Aviation Research Methods AM 424: End of Semester Project

(Written Report & Presentation)

This project consists of 02 Sections, a Written Report and a Presentation. The


Presentation (shall be based on the report). Both Sections carry equal weightage ie 5% each.
Written Report
The written report has to be performed in 3 steps.
Step 1: Using your Questionnaire developed during the class activity along with your own
additional questions, collect the data from all the Ex- IAS (BS AM) students who left the
program (list of respondents shall be shared in a separate email to the respective group
leaders).
Step 2: Compile the data on MS Excel format (file named ‘ARM Class Proj Pt2 Data
Compilation Evaluation and Analysis’.). This is where you are required to do the Data
Analysis. Detailed instructions are provided in the ‘Instruction’ sheet of this file.
Step 3: This is your research project report in MS Word document format in which you
will complete all the elements of your research article / report writing. While writing this report,
you may use some of its contents from your previous assignments including the data analysis
from your MS Excel file (Step 2 above).
The essential elements of this report are given below; however, you may add as many
subheadings in your report, as you desire: Please note that you are required to use APA 7th
Edition style for your report writing and shall be the major part of grading and strict penalty
shall be awarded on its violations.
1. Abstract
2. Introduction including the ‘Research Question/s’ to be answered and its
importance. Then state your hypothesis and Null Hypothesis statements.
3. Literature Review by critically reading at least three papers relevant to your
research topic. Identify the gap to justify the need for your research. Give proper
in-text citations as well as references at end of your report.
4. Research Methodology
a. The selected Research design and why this design was chosen,
b. Population, sample and sampling details,
c. Variables and Measures used and why these measures were chosen,
d. Procedure you will use to collect the data and describing all measures and
limitation to ensure maximum data collection with minimum errors / bias and
appropriate confidence level in your data analysis.
e. Strengths of your research methodology (internal / external validities), and
f. Weaknesses of your research methodology, if any.

5. Result & Data Analysis Import appropriate tables / graphs and the outputs of your
data analysis from your MS Excel Sheet.
6. Conclusion drawn from the data analysis in answering the research question/s.
7. Recommendations for the future research directions by reflecting on
shortcomings / weaknesses (Internal / External validities) found in your research.
8. References
9. Appendix, eg Raw data (Compiled Excel sheet) and Survey Questionnaire etc.

Submission Deadlines:
Report (Part 1 & 2) must be submitted on or before 2359 hrs on 15th January, 2023. (Late
penalty is deduction of 5% of marks obtained per day)
Presentations (Group wise): (16th January, 2023)
Each Group presentation will be of 8+2=10 minutes with 5 min of QnA on PPT format.
Group leader will decide who all will present but for QnA, all members of the group must be
Present. However, the response shall be expected on an individual basis.
