7. Material Flow:-

Material flow actually defines the logistic chain from supplier to the customer. In this, the fabric
produce locally means that they outsource the fabric from different production unit like from
Faisalaba and Gujrawala etc. Before the COVID-19 they outsource fabric from china like
“Different type of Duppata’s” but after the coronavirus pandemic, the import of fabric was too
much expensive for them so, they stop import from china and outsource fabric from different
production unit from different countries of Pakistan.

After outsourcing of fabric the designer creates the design by using the Photoshop software then
after this the single design (which will be launched in future) selected by the design team. After
proving the design it will pass the CAD process in which they selected the colors of that design.
Through the sourcing team, Design forward through CD to Sampling house / Industry. Digital
machines generate samples of cloth then the sample transfers to the designer through the
sourcing team.

After finalizing the prototype by the designer, the production unit starts producing and after that
product will pass through the quality check. Inspections are carried out while production is still
in progress. You may decrease delays and find flaws early with the use of these
inspections (What is a Product Quality Inspection? How Do They Work?, 2022)

After final check, cutting, stitching and packing of cloth will happen then dispatch the shipment
of unstitched and stitched cloth of woman and kids. It’s a systematic process in which all
managers operate fast and on time.

In the end, all these procedures converting semi-finished cloth into finished cloth. There are
various steps completed ethnic by Outfitter Company for the production of cloth. Which include
Designing, Sampling, Costing, Maker Making Cutting, Finishing, Packing, Final Inspection,
Dispatch etc. The fabric will be transferred to their stores or warehouse via trucks.

8. Information flow:-
Information flow define the transfer of information between department to department and from
top to bottom. Consumer-oriented companies are pressured to seek for constant innovations in
short term for product launches. Thus, to become competitive, they use processes and tools that
can qualify information for decision making. The model of information flow in this company is
to increase the responsiveness to product development teams. The marketing teams in product
planning, providing a more comprehensive view of the activities and information channels that
guide each element of Product Planning and Development (PPD).Ethnic by outfitter interlink via
SAP with each other and flow of information done by this system.
This company use Horizontal communication which involves the exchange of information
across departments at the same level in an organization (i.e., peer-to-peer communication). The
purpose of most horizontal communication is to request support or coordinate activities. People
at the same level in this organization can work together to work on problems or issues in an
informal and as-needed basis. The manager of the production department can work with the
purchasing manager to accelerate or delay the shipment of fabric. The finance manager and
inventory managers can be looped in so that the ethnic by outfitter can achieve the maximum
benefit from the coordination. Some problems with horizontal communication can arise if one
manager is unwilling or unmotivated to share information, or sees efforts to work communally as
threatening his position (territorial behavior). In a case like that, the manager at the next level up
will need to communicate downward to reinforce the company’s values of cooperation.

Communications do not start and stop within the Ethnic by outfitter. External communication
focuses on audiences outside of the organization. Senior management—with the help of
specialized departments such as public relations or legal—almost always controls
communications that relate to the public image or may affect its financial situation. First-level
and middle-level management generally handle operational business communications such as
purchasing, hiring, and marketing. When communicating outside the organization (regardless of
the level), it is important for employees to behave professionally and not to make commitments
outside of their scope of authority.

Despite the well-documented costs and errors incurred with sending orders and demand signals
to suppliers(Local production units) via phone, fax and e-mail, these methods remain the most
popular means for supplier (Local production units) communication.

9. Cash Flow:-
Cash flow defines the money that goes in and out of a business. Cash is indeed King as the
saying goes. Without it, companies of all shapes and sizes would not survive. It sounds like it
might be simple but companies must ensure that payments aren’t going out of the bank faster
than they are going in.

"Supply Chain Cash Flow" is defined as the schedule of payments due to your outsourcing party
vs the schedule of payments received from your customers or other revenue sources.

Ethnic by outfitter give discount in small amount like 20-30% to the outsourcing party and after
work will be done they pay them full to prevent any circumstances like outsourcing team doesn’t
perform well, errors in forecasting, disruptions, technology issues and many more.

Careful planning ahead enables a business to build up a strong cash reserve and this cash back up
can serve as a life safer when a business might experience things to throw it off course. Some of
these kinds of situations could be when a supplier doesn’t perform, errors in forecasting,
disruptions, technology issues and many more.

Having the cash flow is one thing, but managing that cash flow is another and it is vital for all
companies to do it properly.
Gap analysis:-

i. With the love and support of their loyal customers. Ethnics by Outfitters needed a unified
ERP system to help streamline its growing, multi-brand business operations – from
planning and procurement to merchandising and sales – across all its physical locations
and its online store.
ii. They mostly don’t recycle the return material. If a mistake happens with stitching of cloth
then they waste the product and for the customer they replace the defective product with
new one.
iii. They don’t have the factory outlet, which means if their product will be defective then
they don’t have outlet for sale on discount or fewer prices but instead of that they send
that fabric to the warehouse back.
iv. Most of their trucks for shipment are full with loads without any weight measurement and
they want to transfer more product to the store as much as they can.
v. They don’t manufacture their raw material like sewing and weaving but they outsource
the fabrics from other production units of Pakistan.
vi. The departments in this brand are not clearly specified, meaning their design team,
production team and  marketing team work in congestion and also their warehouse is in
their company as well as their disposing room too.
vii. This brand doesn't use any type of slogans. Instead of slogans their marketing team
advertises their new launch fabric design through different campaigns and also they use
digital marketing like social media and give discounts to their customers.
viii. Instead of production they focus on the quality of the fabric and design because these two
things unique the “Ethnics brand” from others. For the quality they get feedback from the
customers timely via social media so, from that they get to know what the customer
actually wants and how they improve their quality and design more.
