Expression on Documents
The present standard shall be referred in other documents, drawings, etc., as follows:
“B62 0300”
The material (colored or not) is classified or specified in the form of a code.
For each material, the commercial reference and chemical nature shall be specified according to
B62 0020 (for thermoplastics) or ISO 1629 (for rubbers).
In the case of a colored material, the reference of the color and the system of coloring shall also be clearly specified.
The thermoplastics, thermosets, thermoplastic elastomers and rubbers fulfil the same classification and specification
rule.
Code:
Criteria are filled in one after the other, separated by a slash. It is possible to have several codes for the same criterion
by separating them with a dash.
A list of criteria / code is in Appendix C.
Criteria to no longer be specified from the B62 0300 of previous index are present in Appendix D.
Examples:
31/52/208M-210E/11,

4 General Requirements
The requirements are available according to the services provided by material in term of:
Regulation and consumerism,
Initial aspect,
Retention of characteristics after aging without use,
Retention of characteristics after aging with use,
Compliance with Groupe PSA technical rules,
Technical characteristics (mechanical, thermal, etc.).
Specific criteria for thermoplastic elastomers or rubbers supplement this classification.
In addition, the main requirements are numbered for traceability according to the ISA, e.g. MAT_EXT_VIS_324 for
staining by the automobile fluids.
Those are identified by a code like this MAT_XXX_YYY_ZZZ, with:
MAT for material,
XXX is used to locate the application (scope):
VEH for all vehicle,
INT for interior applications,
EXT for exterior applications,
SCM for applications under hood or chassis,
YYY specifies the location:
TMA for all applications of the scope,
VIS for visible applications of the scope,
NVI for non-visible applications of the scope,
ZZZ indicates an order number.
The level of compliance for the requirement is specified by an alphanumeric code.
An example of specification of the material according to different possible configurations (vehicle function) is indicated
in Appendix A: in order to perform testing, if necessary.
Note: On the other hand, this example has no priority over specification documents relating modules, vehicle parts
and material consulted, which remain the priority documents.
5 General Characteristics
Regulation and Consumerism
5.1.1 MAT_VEH_TMA_101 - Heavy Metal Compliance and Substance Regulatory Requirements
The materials shall comply with B20 0250, which specifies requirements related to:
Prohibition (list of prohibited substances “P” in the GADSL),
Reporting (list of declarable substances “D” in the GADSL).
All this information have to be reported to PSA via an IMDS datasheet.
According to B20 0250 and for health/safety reasons, specific requirements shall be fulfilled for all new development
of parts or materials:
For interior parts:
Substances which are classified as CMR 1A and 1B under CLP (1272/2008/EC regulation) or which are able to
generate CMR 1A and 1B substances during the process, are prohibited starting from the threshold of 0,1%.
Substances which are classified as skin irritant and may cause allergenic skin reaction under CLP
(1272/2008/EC regulation) (hazard statement code H315, H317, EUH204, EUH205 and EUH208) are prohibited.
For rubbers, the substances below are prohibited:
DOTG (1,3-di-o-tolylguanidine – CAS No: 97-39-2 / EC No: 202-577-6),
O-toluidine (product breakdown of DOTG - CAS No: 95-53-4 / EC No: 202-429-0),
Nitrosamines (for example: N-Nitrosodimethylamine - CAS No: 62-75-9 and N-Nitrosodipropylamine -
CAS No: 621-64-7),
Thiram (CAS No 137-26-8 / N° EC: 205-286-2),
DPG (CAS No: 102-06-7),
ETU (CAS No: 96-45-7),
DIURON (CAS No: 330-54-1).

All material Respect of prohibitions according to B20 0250 and from paragraph
61
All applications above providing IMDS data sheet
Note: For rubbers or TPE, which can be in contact with windshield washer fluid, both tests shall be performed.
Note: The test temperature is determined by the position of the part in the vehicle and shall be confirmed to be in
line with the requirement of the STO.

Notes:
For the temperatures not specified in Table 13, classification is written 2XYE or 2XYM for a temperature
corresponding to +XY0 °C. See examples below:
Codes 223E and 223M correspond in previous versions of B62 0300 to heat exposure > +210 °C. These codes
can be specified for a heat exposure of +230 °C only by indicating according to B62 0300.
For using temperatures not expressed in ten degrees (except +85 °C and +95 °C), the thermal requirement for
heat exposure will be required for a temperature ten degrees higher (e.g. for a temperature of use of +135 °C,
the heat exposure will be requested at +140 °C => code 214E or 214M).
Examples: 208E: Exposure temperature threshold of +85 °C for materials of interior or exterior
applications,
210M: Continuous use temperature of +100 °C for materials of mechanical, under hood and
chassis applications,
210M-212E: Use temperatures of +100 °C in continuous and +120 °C at peak for the materials
of under hood and chassis applications,
230M according to B62 0300: Continuous use temperature of +230 °C for the materials of
under hood and chassis applications.
5.3.5.1 Index E

The temperatures of aging are determined by the heat exposure level (See paragraph 5.2.)
Duration of aging is determined by the exposure code:
E = 168 h,
M = 1000 h for rubbers and 2000 h for thermoplastic elastomers.
Examples: P208E: CS between 20% and 50% after 168 h at +85 °C
P+210M: CS < 20% after 1000 h (if rubber) or 2000 h (if TPE) at +100 °C
P+221E-P219M:
CS < 20% after 168 h at +210 °C
CS between 20% and 50% after 1000 h (if rubber) or 2000 h (if TPE) at +190 °C.

The temperatures of aging are determined by the heat exposure level (See paragraph 5.3.5 .).
The duration of aging is determined by the exposure index:
E = 168 h,
M = 1000 h for rubbers and 2000 h for elastomers thermoplastic.
Examples: L207E: TS between 20% and 50% after 168 h at +70 °C
