 ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION

At the present time our planet is suffering great changes, all this thanks to human activity.

the glaciers are melting, the bad use of water puts us at risk of not having water in the
following years. on the other hand, we have the contamination of the oceans with the
garbage that we generate every day, this is and will be one of the factors that will make
our planet decay in the near future.

The lack of policies in the companies on the mitigation of the environmental pollution to
be able to diminish the gases that they emit and that produce the greenhouse effect
makes that the problem grows year after year. It is known that technologies are being
created to reduce this pollution but the cost and lack of interest of companies to invest
in this new technology, makes us continue as in the past years without being able to
move forward.

1. Cities with the most polluted air

According to some studies (2018 World Air Quality Report) the cities with the
most polluted air in our continent are:

Mexico City, Lima, Bogota and Santiago de Chile. These cities have the worst air
quality. Within this list Santiago de Chile is the most polluted city in Latin America.

2. My actions to reduce environmental pollution

The actions I would perform are:

• Everything starts from home, reuse and recycling of waste generated at

home.
• I would create compost as fertilizer for the plants in my mother's vegetable
garden.
• I would encourage my family and my neighbors to recycle their waste.
