The hypotenuse of a right-angled triangle is 11 cm less than twice the shortest side. If
the third side is 8 cm less than the hypotenuse, find the sides of the triangle.

37. Your elder brother wants to buy a car and plans to take loan from a bank for his car.
He repays his total loan of ` 1,47,000 by paying every month starting with the first

(ii) What amount does he still have to pay after the 25th installment. [2]

38. An electrician has to repair an electric fault on a pole of height of 8 m. He needs to


reach a point 2 m below the top of the pole to undertake the repair work.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions.

(ii) What should be the length of the ladder, so that it makes an angle of 60° with [2]
the ground?
