Individual Counseling allows individuals to explore their feelings,
beliefs, and behaviors, work through challenging or influential
memories, identify aspects of their lives that they would like to change,
better understand themselves and others, set personal goals, and work
toward desired change. So this kind of counseling is done when an
individual wants to have confidential counseling that can happen
between the counselor and the client. (next slide)
GROUP
So group counseling is done to instill hope in clients and bring people
together so that they can benefit from more support throughout the
session. It helps clients who feel alone and isolated which can, in turn,
result in depression and worsening behavioral issues. This kind of
counseling help people to move on from what happened or what
they’re experiencing that can lead to depression.
COMMUNITY

function within can have a significant influence on their identity and
connection to others. A community counselor can work with groups of
people experiencing an increased amount of psychological distress to
help determine and address the source of the disturbance. Community
counseling is an advantage to people, especially to those who can’t go
to the hospital or to a private counselor that can help them.
LESSON 4
STANDARDIZED TECHNIQUES

the clients to understand every single word that the counselor may say.
( so next slide please)

the aptitude test, interest inventory, achievement test, personality test.
So the first one is the
APTITUDE TEST

ability to acquire, through future training. It helps to develop what
he/she is good at. This test explained that the natural ability of an
individual can be further developed through the training process.
INTEREST INVENTORY

their personality. Then they compare those qualities with the qualities
of people who are already working in specific careers. This test is done
to help the individual identify what interests her/him the most.
ACHIEVEMENTS TEST

knowledge, skills, and abilities attained by a test taker in a field, in a
subject area, or in a content domain in which the test taker has

measure.
PERSONALITY TEST

various situations. For example, for an individual who is suffering

LESSON 5
FOR GROUPS
Group counseling is important because it is the opportunity to receive
feedback from others in a supportive environment. It is rare to find
friends who will gently point out how you may be behaving in ways that
can be hurtful to yourself and others. This is a unique benefit of a
therapy group.
FIRST STEP
So in the first step, the counselor needs to identify the guiding question
and the goal setting or explain to the client what he/she needed to
understand. In this kind of situation, the counselor can eventually help
the client to formulate specific goals.
SECOND STEP
In the second step, the counselor can determine the subgroup who are
also needed in the assessment. In this kind of situation, the counselor
can facilitate them to determine some needed assessments for the
counseling.
