1. Conceptual Skill

Ans: Managers who have conceptual skills have the ability to think creatively and understand
complicated or abstract ideas. In our every organization we are looking for conceptual skillful

diagnosis of different states. In such a way he can predict the future of the business or

goals, and crafting specific plans for crafting them.

Before starting any project as a manager, I establish objectives, which are statements of what

objectives. After evaluating the various alternatives, I must make decisions about the best
courses of action for achieving objectives.

To organize a business is to provide it with everything useful to its functioning — raw materials,
tools, capital, and personnel.” Thus, organizing involves bringing together the manpower and
material resources for the achievement, of objectives laid down by the enterprise.

In organization to achieve the goal leading is very important. As a manager are effective leaders,
their subordinates will be enthusiastic about exerting effort to attain organizational objectives.
Leading involves the social and informal sources of influence that you use to inspire action taken
by others.

As a manager in an organization effectively manage situations without losing a track of overall

framework of the organizational objectives and goals. I have to manage resources of the
organization by allotting them in an optimum way in the best interest of the organization and
welfare of employees through providing enlightened and inspiring leadership.

3. To understand the organization behavior

Ans: We know that if we want to achieve the goal then we should work as a group or team. If a
team member fails to submit the project then rest of the member should help him or her. Here
organization behavior plays a vital role. How? organizational behavior gives insight on how
employees behave and perform in the workplace. It helps us develop an understanding of the
aspects that can motivate employees, increase their performance, and help organizations
establish a strong and trusting relationship with their employees.

4. Use Scientific Management

Ans: As a manager I use scientific management theory to observe my workplaces, test different
methods of completing tasks, and analyze the effect of the changes. When properly implemented,
scientific management theory improves productivity. It is an evidence-based method that
prioritizes efficiency and reliability. It focuses on the activities performed by the workers in an
organization. The importance of this was that scientific management makes the workers or
employees efficient.

5. Measure company culture

Ans: Measuring company culture is important in helping you understand what is happening
inside your organization. Once you have a better understanding of how your culture is impacting
the employee experience, you can make meaningful adjustments to shape it. As a manager I
always follow this three-step framework to measure our workplace culture.

1. Asking question and feedback: Start by getting feedback from our employees. It’s
important to ask the right questions. These questions should help me understand
employee perceptions of how work gets done. Ask employees about how common
behaviors impact them, including the way I communicate, show appreciation, make
decisions, and more.

2. Then analyzing my collecting data (feedback): After collecting this data, than
analyzing my results.

• What did you uncover?

• What are the common trends?
• What’s the story?
• What might you do next to move the needle?

3. Taking Action: Once you answer these questions, it’s time to take action. Talk with
employees about what you’re doing and why and see if your changes made a difference.

6. Organization’s Culture is Established and Maintained

Ans: The importance of the function is still often misunderstood or underplayed when it comes
to the development and maintenance of organizational culture and alignment. Organizational
culture tends to emerge over time, driven by the intentional efforts of leadership, and HR or
People and Culture plays a critical role in making sure that your new and existing employees are
fully aware and how they can contribute. There are some way that our Organization’s culture is
Established and maintained. It’s given below:

How Does Culture Develop: Startups and small businesses are typically driven by the personal
opinions and approaches of their leaders. The various traditions, processes, rituals and work-
based attitudes generally manifest themselves into ‘the way things work around here’ or culture.

Creating a Values Blueprint: Eventually, many organizations will try to map out the way their
values work within their company and how their culture evolves in the future. One way to do this
is to open up a forum where the organization’s leaders consider what the current values are and
how they would like to frame the development of their culture in the future. Effectively, this is a
values and culture blueprint.

Making Company Culture Stick: Good HR or People and Culture professionals and teams can
help to facilitate your values blueprint creation and will have a unique role in ensuring that an
organization’s culture will continue and thrive. Through the establishment of appropriate people
policies, programs and strategies, your team can support and strengthen the core values and help
your organisation to align more effectively.

7. Alternative Decision Criteria

Ans: We should always employ decision criteria in making any decision. Let’s explore this by
using an example of trying to decide which car to buy. What is important to us that will help us
determine which car will best fit our situation? Is it style, comfort, noise, gas mileage, speed,
manual/transmission, accessibility, price, payment terms available, reliability…?

You can think of these criteria as part of the user story around the decision being made. For
example, you can say: “I need the car to look cool so that I can impress women.” One that is
much more realistic for me would be “I need the car to be reliable so that I don’t have to worry
about breakdowns in traffic.” The criteria are going to help you determine that a successful
decision has been made. The decision criteria in a business setting are those variables or
characteristics that are important to the organization making the decision. They should help
evaluate the alternatives from which you are choosing. I use the word “variables” because I can
disregard any characteristics that are constant among the alternatives.

8. Making effective decision in complex situation

Ans: Decision making in complex situations is never easy. As a manager I have suffered every
day. But there are some criteria which is help me making effective decision in complex situation.
It’s given below:

• The critical factors need to be identified with possible outcomes.

• Assessing the various options and establish priorities.

• See the logical consequences and predict the outcomes.

• Mitigate the uncertainty and risk.

9. Setting Goals Affects my Career Success

Ans: In my long career as a successful manager of Bashundhara Group setting goals help my in
every moment. Setting professional goals can help you both complete certain tasks or projects
and achieve any personal career goals you might have. If you see your company or manager
doesn’t have a specific framework for you to set goals in your job, you might consider setting
your own career goals. You can also set your own goals if you are self-employed. Your career
goals should address both your current situation and your larger long-term career ambitions.
While there are several different ways to set goals, there are a few steps I have taken to ensure
the best possibility of success:

• I always Make my goal as clear and detailed as possible.

• Define how I will measure success
• I always check whether my goals are achievable
• I am making sure my goal is relevant
• Every project or work Set a beginning and end date

10. Select employee in work specialization

Ans: You know that we have many sisters concern company. Like East West Property
Development (PVT) Ltd., Bashundhara Paper Mills Ltd. Meghna Cement Mills Ltd,
Bashundhara LP Gas Ltd, Bashundhara Steel Complex Ltd, Bashundhara Industrial Complex Ltd
etc. In this company almost 2000 people are working but divided into work specialization is very
risky and tough. So at first we divided into group or a team and give them a task. After
completing the task we are looking for who is skillful and who is the best person for each
position. Here allows as a manager to take complex tasks and break them down into smaller
more precise tasks that individual workers can complete. Each employee is trained explicitly on
how to best perform one small, specific task. Over time, that employee becomes extremely
proficient and effective at performing that task. This allows every employee in the organization
to be an expert to some degree.

11. Set goals for myself and my team

You know Bashundhara group is a large manufacturing company in Bangladesh and the
success is looking behind for set the goals. Our goals are always clear and details. So why I
set goals for myself and my team. There are some reasons behind it.

It gives me a sense of direction. Taking the time to think about what you want in life gives
you a sense of purpose. In the workplace, setting goals helps to set a clear path of where I
want my team to go. It also helps to set expectations of different team members.
It helps me to see the bigger picture. At work, setting goals as a team helps everyone get the
whole picture. Knowing the long-term goal and what a company is striving toward can
help each team member perform better in their role.
It provides me motivation. As a team member, having a clear vision of what my team is
aiming to achieve provides inspiration and motivation. Working with your team to move
toward a common goal is motivating and satisfying, giving my team purpose.

It gives me greater control of my future. Setting goals puts me in the driver’s seat of my life.
Just by writing down goals, I am actively acknowledging what I want out of life.

12. Decision-Making Style Impact my Business

Ans: Everything I do stems from a decision I’ve made or a decision I am making. Different
people go about the process of making decisions in often starkly different ways. Awareness of
those styles raises our insight to get people on the same page and headed in the right direction.
Knowing who I am talking to and what their style is can impact how effective I will be at team
building, driving change, achieving desired outcomes, increasing engagement, and realizing a
host of other corporate performance improvement initiatives.

The way I make decisions may not always be the same, but I have certain tendencies that can be
categorized into four common decision-making styles. They are:
11
Analyzing managerial activities of Bashundhara group
The Decisive Style: Those with the decisive style I tend to stay hyper-focused and use a
minimum amount of information to rapidly come to a clear decision. They value action, speed,
efficiency and consistency.

The Flexible Style: This style is multi-focused and fluid. Like the decisive style, the flexible
style likes to move fast, but for the sake of adaptability rather than rigidity. Individuals with this
style quickly will identify potential options and choose one.

The Hierarchic Style: Individuals with this style tend to operate diametrically opposed to the
flexible style. People who make decisions in this way like to analyze all possible routes
individually and thoroughly. Then they decide on the best possible course of action.

The Integrative Style: I am with this style never does the same thing the same way twice. The
integrative style looks at every situation as distinct and therefore requires a unique solution.
These types of individuals favor innovative and creative solutions, enjoy having my ideas
challenged and conduct a thorough analysis of all possible decisions - especially ones that
haven’t been made before.
