Some people say that there should be an adequate free public healthcare system in every country. Other people say
that people should buy private healthcare instead.

Discuss both views and give your opinion.

There are those who advocate that the governments should provide free public healthcare facilities to their citizens;
whereas, others suggest that people themselves manage their healthcare need and pay for their medical expense. In
this essay, I will first discuss both these viewpoints followed by reasoned conclusion.

On the one hand, it is the state governments’ responsibility to look after their resident’s healthcare need. The most
compelling reason for this is that people of nation are paying taxes to the government. Therefore they should receive
better public services including healthcare in return. For example, the UK government has been providing free health
service through National Health System (NHS) since 1940. However, these kind of free public healthcare facilities to all
put burden on the government’s expenditure.

On the other hand, others argue that people should buy their own private healthcare. This is because these days most
people do not follow healthy lifestyle and eat lots of junk food which is one the most obvious reasons for the lifestyle
related ailments, such as diabetes and heart diseases. If they themselves spend money on their own health issues, they
will more likely to follow health lifestyle. In India, for instance, citizens themselves are paying for their own medical bills.

To conclude, while some think that there should be free public health services in the nations, others believe that people
themselves buy their own medical services in private hospitals. In my opinion, the government should provide free
public health facilities which include preventive health checkups and fatal critical care to all, however all health services
should be free only to those who belongs to underprivileged section of the society.
