Tom Hanks and Emma Watson are the protagonists of The Circle, whose main

theme is one of great relevance for our times: the privacy of our information in
the virtual world. In an attempt at abuse of power, where they will go further and
try, this movie touches on a lot of interesting topics like rape and having a
monopoly on network information. It shows a society in which a corporation
makes technology in people's lives and controls people's lives and limits their
privacy.

This company seems perfect, a good salary and many benefits, but as Mae
learns about life within this circle, she discovers that she will soon have to fully
immerse herself in this lifestyle, leaving her friends and family outside.

Everything seemed to be going well, until Mae collapsed from the pressure and
went kayaking at midnight, but obviously it's the worst idea anyone could have,
however, SeeChange, one of The Circle's products, a digital camera , streams
Mae's accident live, putting it in the public eye and making her the first person
to decide to broadcast her entire life live, something like a 2.0 version of Ed Tv,
(the 90s movie), but obviously this idyllic dream of having a life that is shared
with everyone, ends very badly and Mae trying to destroy this system.

In the film, The Circle is a powerful company whose goal is to create a single
virtual user profile so that the user can access a large number of products and
services without having to remember multiple passwords. The Circle is a faithful
representation of the technology companies located in Silicon Valley: modern
facilities, free yoga classes for their employees, exclusive concerts, and above
all a relaxed attitude. Likewise, its CEO Eamon Bailey (Tom Hanks) has the
mission of making this world a better one thanks to technology and the services
that the company offers its users. All these reasons convince Mae (Emma
Watson) to join the company. Immediately, her talent leads her to become the
public figure of a new initiative by The Circle, which consists of breaking down
that privacy barrier by allowing anyone, anywhere in the world, to have access
via video to our lives, and at the same time they can read our emails and chats,
and listen to our phone calls. The reason is simple: privacy and secrets have
led us to destroy ourselves as a society, so the only way to foster union and
coexistence is by being completely honest and transparent.
