NMDC(National Mineral Development Corporation) Limited is a public sector company under the

Ministry of Steel, Government of India. Primarily engaged in the business of exploring minerals and
developing mines to produce raw materials for the industry, it is also expanding its activities towards
steel making and other value added products. It has been conferred ³Navratna´ status by
Government of India.NMDC has been incorporated in 1958 as a Government of India fully owned
public enterprise .NMDC .Since inception involved in the exploration of wide range of minerals
including iron ore, copper, rock phosphate, lime stone, dolomite, gypsum, bentonite, magnesite,
diamond, tin, tungsten, graphite, beach sands etc. It is the India's single largest iron ore producer
and exporter, presently producing about 30 million tons of iron ore from 3fully mechanized mines
viz., Bailadila Deposit-14/11C, Bailadila Deposit-5, 10/11A(Chhattisgarh State) and Donimalai Iron
Ore Mines (Karnataka State).

quality Steel producer with a positive thrust on Social Development.
Mission
To maintain its leadership as the largest iron ore producer in India, while establishing
itself as a quality steel producer and expanding business by acquiring and operating
various iron ore, coal and other mineral assets in India and abroad, rendering optimum
satisfaction to all its stake holders.

Objective

 To increase the iron ore production capacity to 67 MTPA by FY 2025.

Complex
In the Kirandul Complex there are three Iron Ore Mining Projects –
 Bailadila Iron Ore Project Deposit – 14,
 Bailadila Iron Ore Project Deposit – 11C (14 NMZ +11C Part) and
 Bailadila Iron Ore Project Deposit-11B

Deposit-14 is the oldest Mining Project of NMDC, which was commissioned in the
year 1968. This Iron Ore deposit is located at the southern extremity of the eastern
ridge of Bailadila range. The 11C Project (14 NMZ + 11C Part) was commissioned in
1988. It is about 2 km away in the northern direction of Deposit-14 on the eastern
limb of Bailadila. The Deposit-11B is the central Deposit of the 11 mining lease, lying
in between Deposit-11A and Deposit-11C. It is the most recently developed Iron Ore
Project of NMDC, which was commissioned in the year 2015.
