    71 60 051 Removing and installing/replacing complete trailer tow hitch

    Necessary preliminary tasks:


    Remove rear bumper trim

    Removal:

    Unlock latch mechanisms (1).


    Unfasten screws (2).

    Unlock and disconnect the connector (1).
    Remove support (2).

    Unscrew nuts (1).


    Unclip cable clip (2).
    Remove power socket (3).
    Unscrew nuts (1).
    Remove trailer tow hitch (2) support member.

    Installation:

    Position trailer tow hitch (2) support correctly with an assistant.


    Tighten down nuts (1).

    Tightening torque 71 60 1AZ.
    Note:
    Replace nuts (1).

    Position power socket (3) correctly.


    Tighten down nuts (1).
    Tightening torque 71 60 2AZ.
    Clip in cable clip (2).

    Position support (2).


    Connect the connector (1).
    Tighten down screws (2).
    Engage latch mechanisms (1).

    Required reworking:
    Install rear bumper panel

    Observe the information on protection from electrostatic discharge.

    Necessary preliminary tasks:


    Remove right luggage compartment wheel arch panel

    Removal:

    Remove trailer tow hitch control unit (1) from the holder (2).

    Installation:

    Connect all connectors.


    Engage trailer tow hitch control unit (1) in holder (2).

    Required follow-up work:


    Install luggage compartment wheel arch panel, right
