Teaching Dates and Time Quarter Fourth

I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts, uses and importance of Statistics, data collection and the different forms of data
representation, measures of central tendency, measures of variability and probability.
B. Performance Standard The learner is able to collect and organize data systematically and compute accurately measures of central tendency and variability and apply
these appropriately in data analysis and interpretation in different fields.
C. Learning Calculates the measure of variability of ungrouped and grouped data.
Competency/Objectives 1. Define range of ungrouped and grouped data,
2. Calculate the range of ungrouped and grouped data.
3. Participate actively in class discussion.

Then, the teacher will instruct the students to proceed to their respective groups. Each group will be assigned to answer one task and will only
be given 3 minutes to finish the task. Let the students choose among their groupmates to present and discuss their outputs.

1. Present the following examples and let the students study and analyze the following:

Group 1:
30 42 39 35 29

30 42 37 28 27

30 37 35 18 24

25 26 15 24 14

Answer the following:

1. Find the highest and the lowest score.
2. Get the difference of the highest score and lowest score.
3. Define range based on the given activity.

(leads to Formative Ranger Race
Assessment 3) 1. Let the students proceed to their respective groups. Then, the group will be given 5 items to perform through flashing the questions on a
television screen.
2. Each group will choose one representative to calculate the range mentally; one representative per question.
3. After calculating the range, the assigned representative will write down his/her answer on the provided board and present it to the class.
4. For each question, there will be corresponding time limit.
5. The representative from each group who can get the correct answer will take one step forward.
6. The leading group will be declared as the winner.
