For the facilitator:
Welcome! Making every child a competent reader and a functional learner is
the ultimate goal of teaching.
This module are designed to meet the needs of Grade 4 learners in
developing their skills. It is part of a series for Grade 4 elementary pupils in
the k-12 curriculum. This will also help you read with comprehension and
apply critical thinking and reasoning skills.
To get the most out of this module , here are few reminders:
1. Take time in reading the lesson.
2. Write down points for clarifications.
3. You may discuss these points with other teacher’s or with your parent.
4. Perform all activities and answer all worksheet on a separate answer
sheets.
5. The activities and worksheet are designed to enhance your
understanding of the ideas and concepts being discussed.

family, friends, your home, school, and community.
Though this module, you will gain knowledge on understanding meaning of
each word using dictionary and thesaurus.

Let Us Remember

A dictionary is a reference book that contains words with


their spellings, meanings and use. We can also use a dictionary
to look up the pronunciation of the words, their syllables, parts
of speech and origins or history of words.

A list of words in a dictionary is called ENTRY WORDS.


Entry words are arranged alphabetically. This makes it easy for
us to look for words.

Let Us Assess

Choose the correct meaning of the underlined word inside the


parenthesis in each sentence. Used the dictionary.
