INSTRUCTIONS TO STUDENTS:

Students are invited to identify a potential business idea that brings some level of
innovativeness and test the possibility of its commercialization on the market. You are not
restricted to where the business idea should be implemented (country, sector, industry)

Description of the student task:

Students are invited to prepare their essays to address the following issues:
- Elaboration of new business idea
- Elaboration what is the newness of the business idea
- Assessment of macro-environment by assessing different databases such as the Global
Innovation Index, Global Entrepreneurship Monitor, Doing Business Report
- Creation of the questionnaire for testing the commercialization of the business idea

- Conducting a survey with potential users (at least 10 potential users must be
surveyed)
- Present the findings from the questionnaire
- Based on the findings do your SWOT and Porter Model Assessment
- Discuss the findings

An essay should consist at least of the following elements:

Abstract
Introduction
Literature review
Findings
Discussion
Conclusion
References
Appendix

This assignment is worth 30% of your total course grade.
Deduction of points will be in case:
• The essay does not address the given topic fully or partially

• The different tools are not used (SWOT, PESTLE, Porter Model)
• Survey is not conducted and results not presented
• The essay contains less than the requested number of words
• The essay is not written per academic standards that require important elements to be
included (abstract, introduction, literature review, methodology, findings, discussion,
conclusion, references)
• The essay contains grammatical errors and is not properly formatted

HIGHLY APPRECIATED WILL BE IF:

• The essay presents the findings from a concrete potential user


• The essay is written in a very creative way and it is visually well presented
• The essay elaborates the issue in a very concrete way

RESTRICTIONS
- Your paper will be checked for similarity with other sources. The maximum level of
similarity allowed is 20%, excluding the bibliography section. The policy related to
similarity and plagiarism will be STRICTLY implemented. Use APA style for
referencing (https://www.mendeley.com/guides/apa-citation-guide)

RECOMMENDATIONS
- address all relevant issues related to the topic,
- be creative,
- be persuasive,
- be a critical thinker,
- take care of using appropriate writing style,
- implement an adequate structure for the paper,
- use infographics and tables to improve the visual effect, and especially to show the
results of the implementation of different tools
- check twice grammar and syntax.
