Materials/Resources: Introduction:
The teacher will return the students’ rough drafts and give them some time to look
over the feedback.
Write the word revision on the board and volunteers to share their thoughts on this
word.
Then explain this part of the writing process to the class.

Model:
The teacher will show the class a copy of the writing a conclusion worksheet ad
hand the papers out the the class. The teacher will make sure that the student
understand the importance of a conclusion. A conclusion brings the any paper to an
end and a good conclusion has information from the introduction paragraph.
I will show them how to write a conclusion on the board and let them add in ideas
to help go along with me.

Student work:
Students will be given time create their own conclusion on the worksheet. The
teacher will walk around and help any student that needs it. Students will be able at
to x the conclusion they started on their rough draft in the time.

Model:
The teacher will bring the student attention back to the front of the class.
The teacher will show the class a copy of informative essay worksheet and give
copies to the class.
Make sure to emphasize the difference between revising and editing. Revising you
can add, take away, move around and change how you want this to go because you
can improve the writing. While editing is when you take a closer look at your work
and, fix any spelling, punctuation, and grammar.
I will go over the check list and who them at how to check things off of their list
with a rough draft of my own. I will then my students the time to add any
information or thoughts that they have with this worksheet.

Student work:
When start working they will work with a partner to go over their checklist. Each
student will nd someone that they feel comfortable sharing there rough drafts
with. Giving each group time to look over their partners’ work and add feedback if
the they are able too. After the students are nished revising each others work we
will then revise their own work.

Teacher:
While the students are doing their partner work, the teacher will be walking around
the room and check on understanding.

Class:
Bring the class back together and over everything that they just did.
Have student
At the end of the lesson students should turn in a rough draft.
