Standardization

Standardization refers to creating a wide range of goods using a small number of

different components, equipment, and production techniques. It is the process of
creating benchmarks or units of measurement that may be used to compare and
assess things like extent, quality, quantity, value, and performance.

Robust Design

Creating goods, gadgets, and production equipment with robust design ensures that
their performance and functionality are impervious to the many sources of variation,
including manufacturing and assembly tolerances, ambient usage conditions, and
deterioration over time.

Modular design

In a form of standardization known as modular design, constituent parts are divided

into interchangeable modules. It makes failures easier to diagnose and fix. easier
replacement and repair. reduction in complexity in manufacturing and assembly.

CAD System

CAD software is used to develop databases for production, boost designer

efficiency, enhance design quality, and improve communications through
documentation. Electronic files for printing, machining, or other industrial processes
are frequently the CAD output.

Product life cycle

More suitable for existing product as there are 5 stages. Development stage Product
life cycle can be used to develop existing product.
