 ABSTRACT

The study aimed to develop fabric-made facemasks with air purifier

holders against the COVID-19 pandemic at the Cebu Technological University-
Tuburan Campus. The researchers used descriptive and experimental research
methods to produce innovative products and with the help of survey
questionnaires to determine their acceptability and effectiveness. The study was
conducted in Tuburan, Cebu. There were 32 respondents. The perception of
experts and non-experts towards the developed product in terms of design got an
average composite mean of 4.88 or very effective. The average composite mean
was 4.88, or very effective in features, 4.89, or very effective for functions, 4.95
or very effective for aesthetics, and 4.96 or very effective for safety. Thus, an
overall average composite mean was 4.92 or very effective. In addition, the
perceived acceptability of the developed product in terms of perceived ease of
use was 4.91 or highly acceptable, 4.87 or highly acceptable for perceived
usefulness, 4.93 or highly acceptable for behavioral intention to use, 4.90 or
highly acceptable for actual usage. Thus an overall average composite mean
was 4.90 or highly acceptable. The findings revealed that wearing a fabric-made
facemask with an air purifier holder and lanyard against the COVID-19 pandemic
was very effective and highly acceptable in lessening the spreading of the virus.
The output of this study was to produce an improvement plan to obtain the
highest composite mean of 5.00.
