Natural materials are any product or physical matter from plants, animals, or any
material taken from the earth that falls into the raw material classification. Abrus
precatorius seeds come from nature, producing far less waste than other materials. In
short, natural seeds used as accessories have a lower life cycle cost than other
materials. The goal of the collaborative research was to design and create an
improvised facemask holder employing Abrus precatorius seeds to reduce the use of
plastic beads. This study employed an experimental and descriptive method type of
research. It was found that the level of effectiveness had a total average weighted mean
of 4.98, which was verbally translated as very effective. The level of acceptability of the
improvised facemask holder using Abrus precatorius seeds had an overall weighted
mean of 4.96, which was verbally interpreted as very acceptable. Future researchers
who choose to investigate the same product should include a different design, such as a
hologram.
