CASE 1: LOCAL DINERS IN EXPENSIVE RESTAURANT

It was Friday night and local diners began entering the expensive restaurant within the

city. The restaurant is famous for its delicious food and efficient service of the staff.

A couple entered and dined in the restaurant. They began their dining experience by ordering an

appetizer. The savory appetizer taste so good. On their second course, they ordered a salad

consisting mainly of leafy salad vegetables with home made salad dressing that is truly an

appetizing treat.

The couple started eating the salad. Halfway through their salad, the couple noticed a very

unpleasant surprise. They have seen a dead leaf worm in their salad.

GUIDE QUESTIONS:

1. In your own opinion, what do you think the dining couple will do upon the discovery of the worm

in their meal?

The dining couple will complain either they will reorder the same plate or get a refund

if they don't do this they will go to the health department and can get the restaurant

sued or shutdown by the couple either way this will force you to shutdown.

2. Where do you think the problem started with the worm in the salad?

The problem started when they did not really check if the food or leaf they bought was

clean. It's not the vendor's fault, but it's the restaurant fault.

3. If you are the manager of the establishment, what do you think you would do in that situation?

I will calmly ask forgiveness to the customer and change the plates of salad with the new

one, after the incident I will personally check all the stocks and remind my staff to make

sure the cleanliness of the area esp.

4. How would you make sure that the incident will never happen again?

In order to make sure that it would never happen again it should check first the food

before eating it. Make sure that the food is properly cooked, proper temperature or

storage and the utensils to be used are properly washed and clean.
