    Permission given by Responsible officer for craft to come alongside 
    Craft personnel instructed against smoking and use of naked lights (tankers & gas carriers) 
    Illumination adequate and augmented where required 
    Have other vessels been informed of overside work 
    Access adequate 
    Are any passing vessel’s movements liable to cause disruption 
    Craft berthing in vicinity of Propeller or Thrusters, then immobilised, Chief Engineer informed 
    Fendering rigged if necessary 
    Guest warp / Securing lines rigged 
    Access adequate Accommodation ladder / Pilot ladder / Jacobs ladder rigged 
    Aware of overboard discharges, shut off or diverted wherever possible 
