Imagine a life in a hospital where all you will encounter are people talking about your condition

and the status of your health— so draining, right? That is probably why nurses were created to foster a

compassionate environment in an area filled with hopelessness. A nurse, whatever type she or he may

be, should be a living epitome of hope and compassion because when it comes to caring for the sick, a

compassionate company plays a vital role in the betterment of a patient. I certainly believe that

compassion equates to caring so as a freshman in this program, being an excellent student as well as

showing empathy and care to other people is a great way of showing my full commitment to this core

value. I sincerely pray for all kinds of pain to vanish but I do not have the power to do so, what I can do is

to simply do my best to alleviate the pain of the ones who I will encounter in the hospital and provide

them with emotional support, which can strengthen the patient's will to survive. Even the tiniest actions,

like smiling and making eye contact when welcoming patients, can show compassion. Each kind act

strengthens the dedication to offering high-quality, patient-centered treatment with a focus on

improving patient outcomes. Being kind, approachable, and a responsible individual is what I intend to

be throughout my whole journey as a student nurse because in this way, I could leave a mark on every

senior and junior I will encounter here in Cebu Doctors’ University― the same scenario I want to leave

on to my future clients in the hospital.
