Present progressive
Positive:
I am/I’m reading. Some verbs add a consonant before the
-ing:
Negative: run > running
I am not/I’m not reading.
Verbs ending in ‘e’, drop it in the -ing form:
Questions and short answers: have > having
take > taking
Are you sleeping?
Yes, I am. No, I’m not.

We use the present progressive to talk about things that are happening right now
and future plans:
We use the present simple form of verbs such as like/dislike/love/hate plus the -ing
form of a verb to talk about things we like or dislike doing.
