Festivities around the world

There’s a new, foreign pupil in your class. She has invited you to join in a typical
holiday, celebration or tradition from her country. You gladly accept the invitation but
want to do some research first.
Er is een nieuwe leerlinge in jouw klas. Ze nodigt jou uit om een vakantie, viering of traditie te
vieren van haar land. Je aanvaardt haar uitnodiging, maar eerst doe je onderzoek daarrond.

1. Individually, you are going to research your typical holiday, celebration or

tradition from somewhere around the world. You are going to make a poster and
present it to your teacher.
Je gaat individueel op onderzoek. Je maakt een poster en presenteert ze voor de
leerkracht.

2. Research the following aspects first:

Houd rekening met de volgende punten:

- Some general information (where, when, what, why…?)

- The history of this holiday
- Typical foods and drinks
- Typical activities and clothes/accessories

!! Add more information, don’t just mention the suggested aspects !!

!! Voeg meer informatie toe aan je presentatie, houd je niet alleen aan de voorgestelde
punten !!

3. Your poster only has photo’s and some key words, NO text allowed.
Gebruik afbeeldingen en kernwoorden op je poster, GEEN volle tekst.

4. Include your own opinion about this holiday, celebration or tradition.

Geef ook je eigen mening over jouw gekregen vakantie, viering of traditie.

5. Time for presentation: 5 minutes minimum

 Speak clearly and articulate
 Use short sentences and words everyone can
understand
 Smile and make eye contact with your audience
 Relax, breathe and enjoy
