Point- The writers point is to show how looks can be deceiving. They look well dressed and smart but it
turns out they are truly misfortune young people who lack basic knowledge such as English and math
skills due to technology.

Purpose- intended audience

The purpose of this piece is to show the audience that looks can be deceiving .Even though the workers
are well dressed and seem to know what is going on in reality without technology the young people
would be lost.

the purpose is manifold- to critique an educational system that leaves young people functionally
illiterate.
