Objectives:
At the end of the lesson, the students will be able to:
a. define speech communication;
b. demonstrate the five major purposes of communication through a short role-playing;
and
c. explain the significance of understanding the four methods of speech delivery in a
verbal communication.
Speech Communication
- Speech communication refers to the use of the oral medium of passing information,
whether formally or informally, by a speaker to an audience (Muller & Baumeyer, n.d.).
- This type of communication is instrumental to public speaking as it enhances
engagement with a live audience regarding a specific topic or a set of topics (Muller &
Baumeyer, n.d.).
