The "The Short Happy Life of Francis Macomber" by Ernest Hemingway is about the safari

safari with Robert Wilson, the safari guider. A part from that Macomber is 35 years old, a
trim, fit man who holds a number of big-game fishing records. However, at the moment, he
has just demonstrated that he is a coward. Members of the safari, however, are behaving as if
"nothing had happened."
Moreover, When Macomber experienced his first lion, he bolted and fled, earning his wife's
dislike. The fact that Francis ran from the lion like a scared rabbit only made her dislike her
unmanly husband more than she already did, which is only natural given that she has been
disliking him for some time.
The next day, she notices Francis showing some courage as he engages in a standoff with a
charging water buffalo, and she realizes that if Francis keeps showing that he is strong, and
courageous, he might leave her. The second water buffalo's horns are getting closer and
closer to goring Francis as the confrontation with him intensifies, Margot takes aim at the
water buffalo, shooting Francis in the back of the head, and he dies at the most courageous
moment of his "short happy life."

Summary 02: (Fayaz Iqbal)

The short story “A Very Short Story” by Ernest Hemingway is about the relationship
between a soldier and a nurse named Luz. When the soldier is injured, they run into each
other at the hospital and immediately seem to fall in love. While Luz is sleeping, the soldier
assists her during her night shifts by taking the temperatures of other patients.  They
also planned marriage in the future.
Luz writes the soldier letters after he goes back to the front, but he doesn't get them until the
armistice. She expresses her love for him in her letters. They decide that after he obtains a
respectable position in New York, they can get hitched. Until he finds a good job, Luz won't
travel with him. They argue about how quickly the soldier wants her to join him. The soldier
is upset that they must part in this way even though they kiss goodbye at the train station and
have not reconciled after their argument.
While the soldier travels to America, Luz establishes a hospital in Pordenone. She sleeps
with the major of an Italian battalion while there. She informs the soldier in a letter that they
are no longer dating because she plans to wed the major. She continues by saying that despite
her love for the soldier, their relationship cannot last. The major does not wed Luz, though.
Her letter is unanswered by the soldier. He sleeps with a sales girl in the back of a cab and
gets gonorrhea.
