ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION

Green Revolutionary Admirable Serene Society (GRASS) is a Non-Government Organization


(NGO) which was formed on 5th June in the year 2015 and registered on 28/07/2015 under the
Society Registration Act, 1860. The motto of the society is “Work is Worship”. The focus area
mainly includes – Environment, Health and Sanitation, Agriculture, Culture & Sports, Rural
development, Skill development & Employment Generation, Child & Women Development,
Education etc.
The NGO organized various awareness camp like environment, health, skill development, child
care, education, women development, AIDS, Corona virus etc. GRASS has done many work
in Swachh Bharat Mission like protection from pollution, cleanliness, plastic free environment
etc. The GRASS conducted fourth time sanitization to protect the people from corona virus
during lockdown time in the Bokakhat LAC in markets, schools, religious places, hospitals,
sub-centre, banks, gaon panchayat offices, govt. offices, non-govt. offices etc.
GRASS presented some awards known as GRASS GREEN AWARD in the memory of Dhanil
Borthakur, GRASS FARMER AWARD in the memory of Kamaleswar Borah, GRASS
WOMEN AWARD IN THE MEMORY OF Numali Hazarika, GRASS NIRMAL SEWJ
BOTA and GRASS JANA SITOSHI BOTA.
The society helped many people in corona lockdown time by providing food, medication etc.
It always helped the affected people of the society.
AIM OF THE ORGANIZATION
The vision of the society: Tree plantation, to improve society culturally, morally for the
creative youth, to improve the condition of downtrodden and deprived people for the
upliftment of the Society.
Aim of object of the society:
1. Environment:
 To promote environmental and ecological education and research in different
fields.
 To plant trees for control of natural imbalance.
 To prevent cutting trees.
 To setup forest by plantation in suitable area.
 To educate people of different aspects of biodiversity, environment, wild leaves
etc. and it benefits by holding meeting and organizing popular talks and science
exhibitions etc.
 To remove environmental pollution through tree plantation.

1. Health and Sanitation:


 Setting up of hospital/dispensaries in rural and other areas where the existing
medical care facilities are inadequate to extend medical facilities to the people
living in those areas.
 To setup sanitary latrine for BPL people in rural areas.
 To help the poor and physically handicap in getting proper mental and physical
development.
 To setup mental health camp in flood affected areas with various health
institutions.
 Holding of seminars, popular talks etc. to create awareness among the public
regarding sanitary measures, safe drinking water, maintenance of hygiene at
home, various contagious diseases etc.

2. Agriculture:
 To organize training and awareness programmes for modernization of
agriculture, multiple cropping etc. to raise the level of consciousness, income
and standard of living of the farmers.
 To create awareness for organic farming agriculture, floriculture, pisiculture &
horticulture policies and schemes of the government and non-government and
private organizations etc.
 To encourage the youths to get professional/practical education,
application/usage of scientific methods in multipurpose schemes like-
Agriculture, Horticulture, Floriculture, Pisi-culture etc. for the better results and
also to motivate them working beyond the narrow views of the religious,
casteism and politics.
 To take up scientific scheme for agriculture development, e.g. Irrigation,
Vermiculture, Organic fertilizer etc. Also scheme like dairy, fishery, piggery,
gotary, poultry etc. were adopted.
3. Culture and Sports:
 To organize all kind of sports for youth like football, volleyball, cricket,
badminton, athletics, martial arts, adventure sports etc. to provide them the basic
facilities by involving ourselves.
 To promote traditional and folk culture for cultural development of the society
and healthy entertainment including setting up of cultural group and music
school for future generation.
 To promote and organize sports and culture programmes and to provide basic
facilities to the poor aspiring players specially women from backward section.

4. Rural development:
 To follow the motto ‘Work is Worship’ in every step for the welfare of human
society of our nation.
 To organize training and awareness programs, camps etc. on the rural
development program
 To take up programs for the implementation and advancement of Rural
Technology in the rural areas.
 To organize workshops/seminars/conferences etc. on issues relating to improve
the quality of life in rural areas.
 To promote nation building through socio-economical development of the
society.
 To educate illiterate masses of overall society for utilizing modern technology
in weaving, handcraft and other traditional practices.

5. Skill development and employment generation:


 To organize awareness camp among youth for various scheme.
 To trainee the youth with suitable profession i.e. computer woodcraft, bamboo
craft, knitting-cutting, weaving, dairy, horticulture & agriculture base farming.
 To setup professional training centre for educated youth.

6. Child and women development:


 To constitute youth and creative women force for reforming overall Socio
Economical problems like - Education, Culture, Narcotic, Aids and others.
 To provide facilities to the women and children for their all round development.
 To stop child marriage.
 To organize awareness camp for women and child development.
 To stop witch hunting and women harassment.

7. Education:
 To help tea garden workers in getting better education for their all round
development.
 To setup small, medium to large educational institute per requirement including
professional courses like engineering, medical, technical institute and also to
setup nursing homes.
