IV. PROCEDURES
A. Introduction What I need to know? (DAY 1)
Walkthrough of the lesson, content and learning objectives will be
introduced to the learners as they read the module.
The learners will learn the types of forces, if there are forces acting on
objects at rest, and what forces do to the objects. They will also
investigate the relationship between the amount of force applied and the
mass of the object to the amount of change in the object’s motion.
Specifically, they will learn Newton’s First Law and Second Law of
Motion by reading the module.

What’s new?
Learners will do Activity 1 entitled Force and Motion to recall the
concepts learned about force and what it can do to the objects’ motion.
(See Module for the procedure of the activity
Adapted: Learner’s Module in Science p. 6)
The following questions will be answered by the learners in their
portfolio.
1. In Fig. a, when you push the ball what happened to the ball?
2. In Figure b, what happened to the ball when you push the ball again
and again?

3. What happened to the ball when you push it in opposite direction as

seen in Figure c? in figure d?
The learners will continue reading the module wherein they will know
the answers to the questions.
Initial knowledge about magnitude, direction of force, point of
application, and line of action are found in the module.
B. Development What I know? (DAY 2)
Learners will be asked to write true if the statement is correct, false if
incorrect. (Initial assessment)
1. Force is the primary cause of motion.
2. Objects remained at rest because the forces acting on them are
equal in magnitude and in opposite directions and they lie
along the same line of action.
3. Balance force make objects remain at rest.
4. Newton's first law states that an object at rest will stay at rest
or an object in motion will stay in motion and travel in straight
line, as long as no external net force acts on it.
5. “The acceleration of an object is directly proportional to the
magnitude of the net force acting on it and is inversely
proportional to its mass.”
They may check their answers on page ___of the module.

The students will do:

Activity 2 A gallery walk and will answer the questions in the module.
They will write their answers in their portfolio.

NEWTON’S LAW OF MOTION

The learners will continue reading the module on page__ which is all
about Newton’s Law of Motion

Can a man lift or carry this bamboo arch all by himself?

The learners will do:

Activity 3 Investigating Inertia(source: LM in Science pp. 11-12. They
will answer the questions in the module and will write their answers in
their portfolio notebook.
Learners will read the lesson about inertia in the module

Day 3
The learners will do:
Activity 4 Force and Acceleration/ Mass and Acceleration
Learners will read the module and will solve some problems.
C. Engagement What’s more?
I. The learners will be asked to answer the exercises about
Force, Law of Inertia and Law of Acceleration.
II. Problem solving
D. Assimilation What I can do?
After learning about force and motion and the Law of Inertia and Law
of Acceleration, the students will be assigned to write down examples of
situations in Cardona which Newton’s Law of Inertia and Law of
Acceleration can be observed.
Assessment- may be done here

V. REFLECTION The learners in their portfolio notebook will copy the wheel diagram in
their portfolio. They will write at the center FORCE AND MOTION and
the concepts that they have learned about Force and Motion at the
spokes of the wheel. They may also write questions or concepts which
are not yet clear to them.
