A Reaction Paper on CvSU’s Gender Sensitivity Program

CvSU aims to develop a gender-responsive educational setting where all participants have
equal rights and opportunities. Through its "KAbalikat sa SAnayan at LIngap sa mga TAong nasa
laylaYan ng lipunan tungo sa paglagO" (KASALI TAYO) program, the Gender and Development
Resource Center sought to actively include the vulnerable sectors, such as people with
disabilities, LGBTQ people etc.
CvSU’s Kasali Tayo program, gives the equality to all genders no matter who you are or
what gender you belong to. It affects everyone to avoid misunderstandings, discrimination on their
sexuality for any gender, and it gives protection to everyone. As a student, I believe that everyone
has the right to live a peaceful and happy life in their surroundings within the campus, without the
judgment of other people. We live in a new generation where people are starting to change their
perspectives about gender. Because it can ensure that all students have an equal chance to
achieve, gender sensitivity in education is crucial. Teachers and other educators can prevent
unknowingly supporting sexist stereotypes by paying attention to the many ways that men and
women experience higher education. This can help all students, regardless of gender identity,
feel like they have a chance to achieve academically.
To conclude everything, gender sensitivity is important because it can help to reduce
discrimination and harassment within our university, and improve the communication as a student
between men and women. For me, this is important for numerous reasons. First, it allows and
promotes us to have equality among the students. Second, it helps to prevent and reduce gender-
based violence. This type of violence includes things like sexual assault, abuse etc. By being
sensitive to different genders, as a student, we can help to bring these forms of violence against
both genders down. Lastly, gender sensitivity can help create a more just and fair society overall.
Equality is a fundamental human right, and everyone deserves to be treated equally regardless
of their identity.
