Many teachers believe that banning mobile
phones in the classroom will solve a variety of
problems. Specifically, many agree that students will
be less distracted during class time. Several teachers
around the world find that students spend a great
deal of time texting or playing games. Therefore, a
ban on mobile use in the classroom would help reduce
this problem greatly. Another reason why many
students teachers would want to ban cell phones in
the classroom is because students tend to rely on the
internet for information. For example, when
completing assignments, students may use
applications such as Google Search or Wikipedia to
get answers, instead of relying on their own
knowledge. For these reasons, many teachers want to
ban mobile phone use in the classroom due the
problems their use may cause.

As for students, the verdict is remains quite
clear that banning cell phones in the classroom is not
something they want to do. Most students will agree
that banning cellphones would negatively affect their
mood, participation and motivation in school. They
rely on their cell phones for various reasons. Most
often, students use their phones for connecting with
other students, keeping up to date on social media
and browsing the internet for entertainment. In
addition, they tend to use the internet for gathering
information quickly. For instance, when given an
assignment, students can find resources and
assistance for all subjects like Math, English, History
and even athletics. Most students maintain their
argument against the banning of mobile phones in the
classroom because, in their opinion, there are way too
many benefits.
