How could you use a process improvement technique to solve an operational issue or

concern?

In my current job, I have a few processes in my office that resulted in many delays

and inefficiencies. Since the company was enlarged, there has been more workload; work

could have run smoothly. Therefore, there is a need for process improvements technique for

analyzing the bottlenecks. The process improvement methods would be used to analyze the

business process and design improvements that can aid in scaling, especially after the

business grows large.

Why do you think customer service processes are so important within organizations?

Customer services are how the company can increase its interaction with its clients in

their daily operation and problem-solving, especially when critical issues have arisen.

Customer services have been directly affecting the company’s profitability levels since

customer service helps meet customer needs, which has a crucial impact on long-term

customer retention. The customer employees also help boost the employees’ retention.

Workers will only want to work in companies where the customers are treated fairly. In case

when the workers observe that the company is fully focused on offering customer services,

they would be the advocators for the business, and the result is that the workers will remain in

the company and become fully engaged in their work. Additionally, there would reinforce the

organization’s values or brand, where the customer services are likely to communicate with

the customer’s representatives’ team on the brand mission or values. Exemplary customer

service would cause positive reviews, and more recommendations for the company is likely

to result in new customers hence improving the public image.

Provide a specific example of using a supply chain plan or diagram to maximize value.

Expanding the business supply chain visibility is one of the crucial plans that would

aid in improving the business visibility, especially in the logistics operations. The use of

inventory management would be one of the effective strategies that would help track the

inventory levels as the business goes through the various steps of receiving inventories and

moving them to the warehouse, then packaging and shipping them to multiple customers.

Using inventory management technology would offer more visual and real-time inventory

tracking, minimizing the cases of stockouts or being overcharged at an extra cost.

From this course, I have learned the need for the business to improve its process by

evaluating the current process and streamlining them to increase profitability. Equally, the

implication of various principles helps improve the organization’s performance by

minimizing inefficiencies and increasing profit levels. Where business opts to remain at the

same story over time, it most likely collapses. Therefore, all businesses require innovation to

implement change and meet customer demands. Also, from the course, I have learned that

most companies use various process improvement techniques to ensure they adapt to

customer needs. The main reason for the business process improvements is to improve the

business performance to enhance productivity levels, streamline the workflows directing the

business towards the customer’s need, and enhance profitability. In the future, I could apply

the need for process improvements to improve the company’s performance.

What ought to be improved in the course is learning about various global challenges

in the supply chain and how the business ought to deal with them. There has been much

uncertainty due to the economic crisis, which has resulted in various global challenges within

the supply chain. Learning different techniques to help cope with such challenges is crucial.
