Well, my favorite holiday is Christmas. My family and me usually celebrate it by handing out

gifts and eating churros with chocolate for breakfast. Christmas is my favorite holiday because

I love winter. And you?

● What are some holidays that are celebrated in your home country that aren’t celebrated

in the US?

Let me think, there are some holidays such as Hispanic Day or Constitution Day that are

celebrated only in Spain.

● What are some foreign holidays that people in your country celebrate?

Some foreign holidays that are celebrated in Spain are Christmas and Halloween.

● Do you like Halloween? Is there a festival in your home country that deals with spirits and

spookiness?

Well, I really like Halloween, because each one shows their originality to dress up as something

scary. Right now, I can't remember any festival related to spirits and spookiness. And you?
● Do you like Christmas? Is there a festival in your home country that happens around the

darkest part of the year?

Absolutely! Christmas is my favorite holiday. Thanksgiving and New Year's Eve also occur at the

same time.

● What are your favorite holiday foods?

Let me think, well, my favorite holiday foods are the French toast, the shortbread cookies and

buns, the king cake and the nougat. And yours?

● On what holidays do people give gifts to each other in your country?

There are many holidays where people give gifts, but the most common are Christmas, the day

of the Magic Kings and Valentine’s Day. What do you think?

Let me think, the best gift I have ever received was some tickets for a Morat concert in Seville.

Well, the best gift I have ever been given was a record where there are many tracks recorded

for me saying why the songs on the record remind me of him. I also gave him a record player

so he could listen to the record. And you?

● What is the strangest holiday you’ve ever heard about?

The strangest holiday I have ever heard about is the Cheese Rolling Festival, and I believe that

it is a fantastic festival. What do you think?

Of course! I would like to celebrate Independence Day in the USA. And you?

● What do you like to do on your birthday?

Well, let me think... On my birthday I like to spend the afternoon with my parents, go to eat

with them, and then in the evening celebrate it with my friends. And you?

● Do you like going to weddings? What is the best wedding you’ve ever been to

(including your own.)?

Of course! I love to see the illusion of two people who want to share their lives. And you? Well,

I haven’t been to many weddings, but one I will always remember will be my cousin’s wedding.
● What do you think is the most overrated holiday?

I strongly believe that the most overrated holiday is Easter. Although many people like

processions, I think it is not to take all year waiting for these holidays. What do you think?

● Do you like Valentine’s Day? Is there a holiday that celebrates romance in your home

country?

Absolutely! In my country I think only Valentine’s Day is celebrated as a romance holiday.

● Would you rather travel or stay at home on holidays?

Well, I usually prefer to travel, but in some festivities like romería I like to stay home and

celebrate it with my friends. And you?

● Do you get together with your family on holidays? If so, do you find it stressful, enjoy it, or

both?

Of course! I love traveling with my family and enjoying vacations together. And you?

● Do you find holidays stressful in other ways? Travel/shopping/cleaning/hosting?

Of course not! At first it may seem so, but I find the trips relaxing, including the part of buying

the flight tickets and the lodging. What do you think?

● What are some of your childhood memories of holidays?

Let me think... I remember when as a child I went to the beach with my grandmother and

collected shells and then painted them.

● Do you think holidays are a bigger deal when you have kids?

Well, for my parents it hasn’t been, that’s why I believe it won’t be for me either. What do you

Well, I’ve never been attracted to any symbol of any vacation. And you?

I have never tried haggis, but I am open to trying new things, both haggis and other Scottish
foods.
First of all, it seems to me a very simple meal but it looks very good. Also, I would like to travel
to Scotland sometime, and therefore I would have to try the typical foods from there.
