Precocial -> you are born and can be left alone; horse, ducks

Altricial -> you are born and cannot be left alone, dependent; human, some birds, puppies

Nativism - it tells that people are born with some abilities, heritage (breathing, sucking)

Empiricism - humans are not born with abilities, we have to learn first; we need to get ex-
perience (walking, reading)

Intelligence -> adjusting to new situations, insight, being aware of everything (being open-
minded)

Intelligence - ability to adjust to the environment , learn from experience, understand

-Social

IQ - intelligence quotient, measure

Some of the tests are outdated, they do not necessarily test your true intelligence, and must
be relatable

Self-fulfilling prophecy -> we believe in something and that is why we act like this

Rosenthal-> someone told 2 groups that one of them has a smaller IQ and the other higher,
the teacher who believed it started to treat the two groups differently-> smaller IQ (less de-
manding tests), the attitude is crucial, they believed that and because of that they got lower
grades

85-115 average IQ

Relatives; siblings, twins, the closer relative the closer IQ

Generations - different norms of IQ


Adopted children - IQ levels differ, chances, better schools

Fluid-> ability to function in a new situation, we inherit


crystallized -> we can learn, knowledge about history, etc.

Analytical -> logical


creative -> music
practical -> how we can use it

Multiple intelligence -> 8 intelligences

Emotional intelligence- ability to perceive emotions, access and generate them, and regulate
them, when we negotiate something; self awareness, self regulation, motivation, empathy,
social skills

Can we develop/improve our EQ? YES AND WE SHOULD
