    Key Amendments & major changes:

    A. Recommended selection of group mechanism (duty class) of the crane for


    purchaser.
    B. Basic duty factor for class of mechanisms.
    C. Selection of wheel and giving due consideration of duty class, travel speed
    and wheel material.
    D. Selection of sizes for wire rope, rope drum, sheave and allowable fleet
    angle
    E. Provision of compacted rope, seamless pipe for rope drum, case carburized
    gearboxes, geared brake motor, etc
    F. Motor selection with thermal adequacy, use of service factor and RMS
    method.
    G. The mechanism duty is classified in eight groups M1 to M8 based on their
    total duration of utilization applying up to the time of replacement of
    mechanism and load spectrum that is, life load cycle.
    H. Supersede IS 4137: 2015 (EOT Cranes for steel work)
