GED 108: Art Appreciation

ACTIVITY #1
QUESTION

What is “art”?

ANSWER

Art, like love, has several meanings

and examples. Art evokes emotions
or is an expression of life. Art is a
production that may be interpreted in
any way. I've read that art is regarded a
human talent as opposed to a natural
skill, and that it may be applied to music,
painting, poetry, and so on. Nature, in my
opinion, is also an art form. If anything is
created in a certain way by someone or
by nature, it is unique and exceptional in
its own right. As a result, I feel that art is
not about perfection; it is something that
continues to evolve and flourish as it is
seen, so opening up all generations of
emotions, thoughts, and human
capacities.
QUESTION

What is my (your) art?

ANSWER

I've loved dancing since I was a

young; it's my way of freely expressing
myself. So, I can say that dancing is my
art. I must utilize my imagination and
ingenuity to create choreography for
dance, and dancing itself carries emotion
from the motions of the dancer's body to
their expressions. We, as dancers,
produce something unique from what
we've seen before, and numerous dances
can be inspiring, saddening, or
expressing a narrative to the audience
witnessing the performance.
QUESTION

What is the importance

of art in my life?

ANSWER

Art is important in my life since it

serves as a form of therapy for me.
It is difficult to live with bottled up
emotions that have no escape. Art gives
me that escape. When I write in my
journal at the end of the day, I pour my
heart out on paper. Every stride I take
while I dance communicates anything I'm
feeling at the time. It helps me become
calmer, not only in the moment, but in
general. Knowing that I can express
myself at the end of the day keeps me
grounded in stressful situations. Art is
interesting, and it allows me to divert my
attention away from the gloom that
frequently envelops us in our daily lives.
