6 Telephone communication between bridge, steering gear & Engine room.

7 Oil level check for pumps.

8 Oil leakage check for complete system.

9 Greasing system satisfactory for pallister bearing & tiller arm.

10 Current drawn by each motor individually.

11 Power failure alarm check for both units.

12 Gyro failure alarm.

13 Testing logged in ER log book.

14 Emergency steering tried out.

15 Steering room heaters on if required .

16 Check Steering gear room bilges and associated spaces.

NOTE: If using Sea Bridge for the intended voyage, then steering gear checks to be carried out
additionally from the Sea Bridge control.
