Title : THE IMPACT OF MODERN TECHNOLOGY ON THE EDUCATIONAL


ATTAINMENT OF GEN Z/ 21st CENTURY

Introduction

The 21st century is commonly referred as a technological phase. The role of technology
in modern life is important. It is considered to be the foundation of economic growth. An
economy lacking in technology cannot expand in the current environment. This is due to how
much easier and faster technology makes our work. The influence of technology may be seen in
education across all conceivable fields technologies used in education today. The exact use of
technology by current students today, as well as how utilizing technology negatively affects their
learning, has been the subject of recent study. As a result, it is more and more clear that
employing contemporary tools and software will improve student interaction and learning.
Modern technology is accessible to today's generation in a level that has never been before, and
they use it in both expected and surprising ways. Youth use technology for long periods of time
each day, and the majority of them have access to the Internet, mobile devices like smartphones
and tablets, video games, and many other things. Concern over the impact on academic
achievement is raised by recent studies. An overview of how modern technology has affected
teenage students' ability to complete their education is given in this paper. It was intended to look
at the connection between teenage computer use and academic achievement. 

Statement of the Problem

1. Declining Writing Skills


 The writing skills of today's generation have significantly diminished as a result of the
overuse of online chatting and shortcuts.
 These days, students are relying more and more on modern technology or digital
communication that they have totally forgot about improving their writing skills.

2. Increasing Incidents of Cheating


 Technological developments like graphical calculators, high tech watches, mini cameras
and similar equipment have become great sources to cheat in exams.
 It is easier for students to write formulas and notes on graphing calculators, with least
chances of being caught.

3. Lack of Focus
 Text messaging, often known as SMS, has become a popular past time among students.
Students are often observed using their iPhones or cell phones while driving or in
between classes.
 Being continuously connected to the internet or technology has led to a loss of attention
and concentration in schoolwork, and to some extent, even in extracurricular activities
like sports.
