IV. PROCEDURES
1. ENGAGE: A. Preliminary Activities (5 minutes)
 Prayer (a prayer leader will lead the class)
 Greetings
 Checking of Attendance
 Setting of Standards and Health Protocols
B. Review of the past lesson
- Review about the different types of mirrors and lenses will be done
thru Socratic method.
C. Motivation: Look-Out! (3 minutes)
 Students will be asked to look around and observe the things they see
around them.
 The following questions will be asked to them.
- What are the different things you see around you?
- How do we classify the different things you’ve mention?
- Do you thing the living things you’ve mention rely upon one
another and their environment?

D. Presentation of the Learning Objectives (2 minutes)


By the end of the session, the learners should be able to:
1. Identify the uses of mirrors and lenses (S10FE-IIh-52)

 GROUP ACTIVITY: Activity # 1: Odd picture out!? (3 minutes)


(See attachment # 3)
- Different pictures will be posted on different corners of the classroom,
each group will identify which among the pictures assigned to them
shows the application of mirrors and lenses.
- A representative from each group will be asked to post their selected

 GROUP ACTIVITY: Activity # 2: Where do I belong? (7 minutes)

- From the identified pictures (application of mirrors and lenses) in
activity 1, students will be tasked to categorize them to which it
belongs- if it is an application of plane mirror, concave mirror, convex
mirror, concave lens or convex lens.
- A teacher-made AVP will be shown to reveal the answer of the
activity.
- Just in a case a picture/s was/were misplaced, student/s who answered
will put it in the category where it should belong.

 Video Presentation (7minutes)


EXPLAIN: - Each group will be given guide questions(See attachment # 5) to
answer regarding their assigned application of mirror and lenses to be
discussed after watching the AVP.
- A short teacher-made video clip about the uses of these applications of
mirrors and lenses will be shown to students to have a better
understanding regarding the topic.

 Presentation of Answers (10 minutes)


- Presentation of work will be done after students will be given ample
time to answer the guide questions given to each group.
- A representative from each group will do the presentation of their
assigned topic.
4. ELABORATE: - A rubric will be used in assessing the presentation of each group. (See
attachment # 6)
 Summing-up the Lesson (5minutes)
- The applications of mirrors and lenses will be categorized depending
on what field these were being used.

5. EVALUATION:
- A matching type quiz will be given to the students to check their
understanding about the topic.

 Different activities will be given to choose from to address different


kinds of learners (advanced, average, least learners, students who
belongs to IP group, students with special abilities and talents). Rubrics
will be provided for each activity (See attachment # 9)
- Telescope Making
 Create your own telescope using any available indigenous or recyclable
material at home. (for all types of learners)
- Picture Perfect
 Capture 2 pictures showing the application of mirrors and lenses at your

- Mini-Vlog
 Create a short video presentation showing the application of mirrors and
lenses at your home or in your locality using your dialect. (for all types of
learners)
- Little Teacher thing!
 Explain the application of mirrors and lenses to 2 high school students
you know, you may use your local dialect in explaining the said topic. (for
all types of learners)
