a. The point (3,4) lies on the graph of the equation 3y=ax+7.Find the values of a.
Ans: 5/3
b. Write 3𝑦 = 2𝑥 + 5 in standard form, then find the value of a,b,c.
Ans: a= 2, 𝑏 = − 3, 𝑐 = 5
2. Short answer type (I) questions: (2 marks each)
a. Write four solutions for the equation πx+y=9
b. Write a linear equation to represent the following situations.
i. 2 chairs and 3 tables cost ₹150.
Ans: 2x+3y=150
ii. Present age of son is 5 less than (1/5)th to the age of his father.
Ans: y=5x+25
3. Short answer type (II) questions: (3marks each)
a. The point (2,3) lies on the graph of the linear equation 3x-(a-1)y=2a-1.If the same
point also lies on the graph of the linear equation 5x+(1-2a)y=2b then find the value
of b.
Ans: b=1/2
b. Draw the graph of the equation 2y-3x+4=0. From the graph, verify that x=-2 and y=5
is one of the solution of the given equation.
4. Long answer type questions: (4 marks each)
a. Part of monthly expenses of a family on a milk is fixed which is ₹700/- and remaining
varies with quantity of a milk taken extra at the rate of ₹25 per litre.Taking quantity
of milk required as x litres and total expenditure on milk as ₹y.Write a linear equation
representing the above information and draw it’s graph.
Ans: y=700+25x
b. Draw the graph of 3x+y=6. At what points does the graph intersects the axes?
