Reflection
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)
1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology coaching and technology leadership from completing this field
experience?

In this Data Overview field experience, we were to create a presentation for stakeholder about the progress and data of the school. We were to locate
aggregated and disaggregated data of the school in comparison to the district and state. Once the data was collected, in order to compare data, the
information was put into an excel spreadsheet to create the graphs. This information was collected to determine trends within the data and also to determine
needs improvement data. Once the comparison was made on the Math GMAS assessment, a SMART goal was made.

What I learned about technology facilitation in leadership from this field experience was that it takes the help of a data team to properly pull and put the data
together. It was complicated determining which data to pull and how to analyze the data to find trends. I learned the importance of planning, researching, and
trial and error. Most of all I learned the patience of technology facilitation and the importance of a shared vision for technology and leadership.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs,
enthusiasm) required of a technology facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected above. Use the language of the PSC
standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and dispositions.)

This field experience covered numerous PSC standards of what I must know, be able to do, and dispositions. In this field experience I had the opportunity to
demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and dispositions to actively engage parents, community, and other stakeholders in school decision-making and problem
solving processes to have a positive effect on student learning and to achieve the school’s vision. I also developed and lead communication strategies to
support the school’s goals and student achievement. Lastly, I used appropriate performance management tools and processes to plan, measure, monitor, and
communicate about improvement.
3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or student learning at your school. How can the impact be
assessed?

This field experience impacted student learning because the data overview supported the school’s vision, mission, and goals. School improvement was
impacted through this field experience because the data overview helped to inform faculty and staff as to where we stand as a school on standardized testing
results in comparison with the State of Georgia. Lastly, faculty development was impacted because the data overview gave teachers the opportunity to
evaluate their effectiveness in the classroom.

These impacts can be assessed through data collection, school improvement, and student academic achievement goals being met.
