CANDIDATE REFLECTIONS:
(Minimum of 3-4 sentences per question)

1. Briefly describe the field experience. What did you learn about technology facilitation and
leadership from completing this field experience?
This Data Overview field experience required me to access, analyze, and summarize student
GMAS test scores for 3 years and compile it to create a presentation. This experience taught me a
lot about the knowledge a technology leader should have in order to create action plans for change
within a school. This also taught me a lot about being able to have the necessary components of a
presentation to present to other staff members, administrators, and teachers, and it made me
understand the importance of ensuring presentations are visually engaging and provide knowledge
for others to gain from.

2. How did this learning relate to the knowledge (what must you know), skills (what must you
be able to do) and dispositions (attitudes, beliefs, enthusiasm) required of a technology
facilitator or technology leader? (Refer to the standards you selected in Part I. Use the
language of the PSC standards in your answer and reflect on all 3—knowledge, skills, and
dispositions.)
This field experience contributed greatly to what a technology leader should know, be able to do,
and the disposition they should have. I now know the importance of data and presenting it to
teachers and staff members. It is imperative to ensure that staff developments are used in ways that
engages teachers, as well as provides knowledge. This experience showed me that technology
leaders should have the necessary skills to understand what data is useful and how it should be
used to implement change. Finally, I understand the importance of keeping an optimistic mindset
when analyzing data. Some schools may be more challenging to implement action plans that drive
change. However, I think if the technology leader remains positive and optimistic, this will set the
tone for the rest of the stakeholders involved.

3. Describe how this field experience impacted school improvement, faculty development or
student learning at your school. How can the impact be assessed?

This field experience greatly impacted school improvement, faculty development, and student
learning at PDW. I think all three components were equally impacted because providing an
overview of data is just important for all each of these categories. The impacts can be assessed by
evaluating future growth school wide, evaluating the skills and knowledge teachers implement as
a result of being the data overview, and by assessing how students grow as a result of
implementing the action plan from the data overview.
