SAINT LOUIS UNIVERSITY

A. BONIFACIO ST., BAGUIO CITY

CHRISTIAN FAITH EDUCATION 103

MIDTERM EXAMINATION

Answer the following questions:

1.How are you going to relate the “Kingdom of God” to the concept of holistic
“salvation” or “kaginhawaan?” (10 pts.)

As I learned from what are discussed, the Kingdom of God is not a place instead
it is a situation of us well-being or “kaginhawaan.” As Jesus sacrificed His own life for our
salvation. Salvation of our whole holy body. As we remember what Jesus said in the
cross “forgive them Father as they do not know what they are doing.” He did not only
saved simply us instead He saved our soul and mind to attain well-being or
“Kaginhawaan.” And I believe to what are discussed the Passion of Jesus in the cross is
Him doing His mission to liberate us Church and our salvation.

2. Why is it that the mission of the Church is based on Christ’s mission? How is the Church
going to proclaim the Kingdom of God? (10 pts.)

A Church as a body and image of Christ, His mission is also our mission. Jesus’s
mission to liberate us to attain well-being is also our mission as a hope bearer. We may
help Jesus liberate those in the margins by us Church being a hope bearer proclaim the
Kingdom of God by sharing God’s words and love to others. A hope bearing Church
should know that the mission of Christ is our mission too, to liberate people but only God
can judge and forgive them.

3. As a student of Saint Louis University, identify a particular community (or group of

persons) where you can do a concrete good action to help build God’s Kingdom.
Identify your target community, state the concrete action that you can do and explain
how your action can help build God’s Kingdom. (10 pts.)

As a student at Saint Louis University, and if this will be held at Baguio the very first
community where I could do a concrete good action to help build God’s Kingdom is in
the elder tribes of Cordillera that are in Baguio. Maybe they have their own beliefs and
culture, but it is not bad to share a Christian tradition to them because we already
share cultures and tradition as one nation. I do not pertain only the ethnic groups but all
the community that are in the margins, families affected by poverty is the most
common examples this families forgotten God and blame Him for their situation and
state. As “keep it simple” one of my perspectives in life, a concrete action that I can do
is to provide what they need. Families is poverty is not far the same as the ethnic group.
They are being forgotten by our government and by the world. But it is not a reason to
forget God. Conducting a big program that will show them what sharing, love and
unity as a part of the Kingdom of God is. For us all to become well-being or
‘kaginhawaan” we should see each other as one. An example of this program is a
feeding program but what I will proposed is a Recollection program where they will
renew their souls and leave the margin to once know God. It sounds simple but too
complex to understand, nowadays to fulfill our mission as a Church we should consider
and include anyone, no matter what their religion or belief was nor their state in life. The
most important thing is we helped God liberate those in the margins and we
proclaimed the Kingdom of God not as a place we will be at but as a situation we are
well-being or “Kaginhawaan.”
