Part Two: The digestive system

When we eat, we use our digestive system to digest what


we eat. We put food in our mouths. We chew food with
our teeth. Then the food goes down the esophagus. It
arrives in the stomach. In the stomach, the food mixes
with the gastric juice. The gastric juice changes the food
into a simpler form to get energy and nutrients. We need
energy and nutrients in our body.

1-The mouth: We chew food into our mouth by using our
teeth.

2-The esophagus: goes from the mouth to the stomach.

3-Gastric juice: When the food moves from the


esophagus to the stomach, the gastric juice digests it.

4-Small intestine: food moves from the stomach to the


small intestine to complete the digestion.

5-large intestine: The large intestine is around the small


intestine. It takes water and salt from food to the body.
It removes waste.

Part three: The Respiratory system:

1-We use our respiratory system when we breathe. We


need oxygen in our bodies. We breathe in air through our
nose. Our diaphragm goes down. It pulls air into our lungs.
In the lungs, the oxygen from the air goes into our blood.
Our heart pumps this blood around our body. The

diaphragm goes up. It pushes air with carbon dioxide out
of our lungs. We breathe out.

Now read and identify these descriptions:

1-Nose: This is in the center of the face.

2-lungs: We have two of these. They are inside the body.

3-Diaphragm: This is a muscle under the lungs.

4-Pump: To move quickly from one place to another.

Part four: Health problems:

1-Your friend has a burn on his/her


hand.

The solution: Hold the hand under cold


water for 10 minutes.

2-Your cousin can’t be breathe. She is coughing.

The solution: Hit her on the back with your hand open.

3-Your brother sprained his foot.

The solution: press a bag of ice on his foot.

4- Someone has a nosebleed. Be a kind friend.

The solution: pinch their soft part of the nose for 10-15
minutes at least. Hold their nose with ice bag of
vegetables covered by a towel. Ask them to breathe from
mouth. Continue Pinching the nose for 5-10 minutes.

Part six: The prefix “re”

(Re) is a prefix that can be added before the verb and


give the meaning of again.

Examples: Do redo/ write rewrite /paint repaint

Part seven: conjunction (and-but)

A conjunction is a word that joins words and sentences.

1-And: To add two ideas together.

E.x: I eat vegetables and I exercise.

2-But: To show contrast.

E.x: I want to play football, but I hurt my leg.

The land in Damietta governorate is rich


in nutrients. The farmers can grow rice,
tomatoes, potatoes, wheat, lemons,
grapes, and guavas. Fishermen catch
thousands of fish in the sea. Cows, goats,
and sheep live in Damietta governorate,
too. Domiati chesse is very famous .About one and half
million people live in this part of Egypt. Life is good in
Damietta!
