The poem ‘Pansit' by Adonis Durado a Cebuano descent, his poem shows the

persona is reminiscing moments of his life with his family. This kind of event
usually happens to many people. As I read and examine the poem, at first I wasn't
able to understand since the language is Cebuano and some of words are too
unfamiliar. When I finally understood the poem I generated many theories and
conclusions. It is difficult to make conclusion since I don't know the other side of
the poem, it is only the point of view of the child that is being presented. But this
poem never failed to amaze me in a way of using deep words, literary devices and
making puzzles for listeners to be intrigue.

The first line ‘Mahadlok ko sa una' expresses persona is looking back to his past
times where shows fear when (2) his father felt hunger ‘ kung gutomon is Papa,
Ma’ and the word Ma at the end of the line illustrates that the persona is talking
with his mother. In the next 4 lines, it shows the actions of the father when felt
hunger and only one meal was served at the table persistently. He showed
dissatisfaction. The next two lines shows as the result of actions of the father.
With this kind of event this usually occur in some, every family of Filipinos. The
next 4 lines illustrated the curses of Father and showing dissatisfaction of having
one meal persistently. For using the exclamation point it shows that the character
is expressing anger. In this way you can tell the father is yelling and burst in anger.
The poem is divided into two parts, a free poem since the numbers of syllables
every line are not the similar, 7878 97 69 86 12 78 59 67 99 75 98. and it has no
rhyme, rhythm, and alliteration. In assonance, we can found a few of them in the
poem: sa karaan natong banggira.
In imagery, sight “ang nalimonsitong buwan” and smell “sa kahumot sa hebe” are
presented
