Vincent de Paul Parish Pastoral Council Meeting Minutes for January 26, 2023

Members present: Father Patric, Scott Sigourney, Cheri Walloch, Mary Jo Sigourney,

The meeting opened at 5:30 with prayer.

Ashley Heil Proposal – Ashley presented developing a Ministry Outreach Coordinator

position within our parish. She is thinking 15-25 hours per week. Ashley would want
her wages to be consistent each week/month; the Council feels a job description should
be created and start slowly. We have to decide exactly what our wants and needs are.
The Young Adult Ministry on the first Fridays of the month and a Sunday morning
program between the 8:00 and 10:00 masses may be a good place to start.

Christmas worship attendance – Father doesn’t want attendance posted in the weekly
bulletin as it wouldn’t serve a purpose. However, for our purposes we would like an
attendance count at each mass.

Assumption moving office into St.Vincent rectory (update) – At the ACS meeting, Dan
Minter was told to slow down. There may be some other options within the Assumption
building itself. They have a big storage area next to the gym that could possibly be
converted to offices; the Athletic Director uses a classroom with no classes. This has
been put way on the back burner.

Year End Financial Statement – The new financial program changed the Chart of
Accounts this year. Last year expenses were manually put in categories at the
discretion of the bookkeeper. Capital items get excluded from the DAA assessment.
Diocese is saying we still owe between $11,000 and $12,000 for a previous DAA, but
we believe that was paid.

A Eucharistic Congress is to be held this year. Father’s plan is to skip the sermon on
the first weekend each month at all masses and hold adoration for 15 minutes at the
end of mass instead of holding a specific time each week for adoration where only five
or six people attend. He will explain eucharaistic adoration in depth during that time.
Record just the mass at the 5:00 Saturday mass, not the adoration.

The Bishop will be at SS Peter & Paul for a 10:00 Mass next Friday, February 3,
celebrating Catholic Schools Week.

The next meeting will be Thursday, February 23, at 5:30 in the Gathering Space.

The meeting closed at 7:30 with prayer.
