UNITTOPIC: God is our Loving Creator

Learning Outcome: Create a storybook about creation

OBJECTIVES: By the end of the unit, the pupils will be able to:

1. Identify God’s creation for each day

2. Demonstrate understanding of the Story of Creation by retelling the story in their own words

3. Name ways on how to take care of the world that God has created for us

4. Show gratefulness to God for His wonderful creation through a storybook

Session 1 I. OVERVIEW OF THE UNIT

A. INTRODUCTION OF ESSENTIAL QUESTION

The teacher will share the EQ questions for the unit:

 How will you take care of God’s creation?

B. ELICITING PRIOR KNOWLEDGE

The students will answer the T-CHART to check their prior knowledge about creation.

Directions: Mark a check () on the column of your answer.

the transfer tasks at the end of the unit.

The pupils will have an overview of the learning activities to be done that will lead them to do the performance task at the end of the
unit.
Session 2
I. PRESENTATION/DISCUSSION

A. ACTIVITY # 1

The teacher will flash a black image from the screen then ask:

What word can you give to describe this black image?

(black, darkness, no joy, empty, no color, sadness, etc.)

Say: That was before God created the universe, there was total darkness; everything is empty and no life.

B. ACTIVITY # 2: Storytelling

The teacher will tell the story of creation. While having the story telling several students will be tasked to

paste the picture that corresponds to creation that will be mentioned by the teacher.

The teacher will provide hand-out about the Story of Creation in order for them to familiarize
themselves for the God’s creation per day.

C. APPLICATION (FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT)

The students will answer a worksheet about the discussion.

[The video is a tagalog version of the Story of Creation. This scaffold is integrated in the Filipino subject
(Topic: Detalye ng Kuwento) and Computer (Topic: Typing)]

After the video presentation. The students will be tasked to answer the questions about the story in the
google form.

Session 4 I. DRILL
Sequencing
The students will be tasked to arrange the creation pictures based on the day it was created.

II. (Scaffold 2)
Activity - Retelling
The students will be paired. They will be tasked to write the Story of Creation in their own words (Tagalog) through the
aid of the sequenced pictures used in the drill. After writing the story, they will be assigned into a bigger group. Each pair
will share their story to the group where they belong.

I. Nature Trip
The teacher will bring the students outside the classroom. The students will be asked to observe the

surroundings. After a few minutes of observation, the students will stay on the assigned area and
complete the worksheet given by the teacher.
