ORGANIZATIONS AND MANAGEMENT OF SCHOOL

*Introduction of the course study (subject description)

This course is designed to familiarize the students with the basic concepts,

principles, and processes related to business organization, and the functional areas of

management. Particular emphasis will be given to the study of management functions

like planning, organizing, leading, and controlling, and orient the students on the

importance of these functions and the role of each area in entrepreneurship.

This is an introductory course designed to help you develop an understanding

and awareness of the essentials of managing and of the way organizations behave. By

exploring the four pillars of management: planning, organizing, leading, and

controlling, we will discover how organizations leverage their scarce resources to

achieve their goals. The objective of this course is to provide students an overview of

the field of management, and insights into the concept of organizational structure.

This task will be accomplished by introducing participants to the history, lexicon, and

practices of management as a field of study, and its present position in terms of both

theory, practice, and the standing as a profession. This process will entail the use of

such pedagogical tools as: case incidents, research, interactive exercises, current

thinking, literature review, and relevant examinations.

Organizations and Management

Organization management refers to the art of getting people together on a

common platform to make them work towards a common predefined goal.

Organization management enables the optimum use of resources through

meticulous planning and control at the workplace.


Organization management gives a sense of direction to the employees. The

individuals are well aware of their roles and responsibilities and know what they are

supposed to do in the organization.

The study of management will provide you with the tools and skills needed to

land leadership positions, head up your own company, as well as manage teams,

individuals, and organizations effectively. Studying management will also position

you for outstanding earning potential.

*Reaction on the course study

This course study taught us the basic terminology of management, and some

more about how to succeed in managing, and whether or not managing is for you.

While working through this course, I discover that although it is easy to

understand, managing is not so simple to do. Managing is deceptively simple; anyone

can easily read and understand the book you will be using. However, most businesses

that fail do so because of bad management. Therefore, strive to have fun and learn as

much as you can in this course; having a good understanding of the principles of

management is vital in today’s marketplace.

Organization management helps to extract the best out of each employee so

that they accomplish the tasks within the given time frame.

Organization management binds the employees together and gives them a

sense of loyalty towards the organization.


*Reflection of the importance of the course study to current employment

The overall purpose of educational management is to effectively and

efficiently create and maintain environments within educational institutions that

promote, support, and sustain effective teaching and learning. Any organization plays

a vital role in the life of human being. It plays different functions like; brings

efficiency, guide pupil to receive right direction from the right teachers, enables the

pupil to get profit from their learning, bring coordination of the student-teacher-

parents-society. Organization management enables the optimum use of resources

through meticulous planning and control at the workplace. Organization management

gives a sense of direction to the employees. The individuals are well aware of their

roles and responsibilities and know what they are supposed to do in the organization.

It provides well defined policies and programmes, favorable teaching learning

situation, growth and development of human beings, make use of appropriate

materials, effective development of human qualities, execution of the programmes,

arrangement of the activities, efforts for attainment of the objectives etc.

This course is designed to facilitate a better understanding of the theoretical

concepts of organizations and the processes of management.  Learners are able to

accomplish/master skills upon completion of this course such as the following; define

the management functions and business processes that create value for an

organization, define basic business concepts, principles and values that contribute to

organizational performance, identify management policies, practices, and procedures

that influence group and individual dynamics in organizations, describe situations

where management decision-making should incorporate ethical reasoning,

multiculturalism, and internal inter-group behavior, use fundamental management

concepts and principles as guides to analyze class environment case incidents, identify
many of the factors and forces managers must confront both internal and external to

the organization, identify and describe the major components of the organization’s

internal and external environments, their effect, significance, and impact on an

organization, identify how one’s leadership style interacts with effective

organizational change strategies, explain how decisions are made in an organization,

including types of decisions to be made, problem definition, and various approaches

to decision making, and display proper usage of management terminology during case

discussions.

An effective management ensures profitability for the organization. In a

layman’s language organization management refers to efficient handling of the

organization as well as its employees.
