Week 6
Managing human resources is the chapter we have learned in week 6 which is one of the most
important factor to achieve a goal and run the organisation smoothly. The chapter talks about
different kind of important factors which are important for in management of human resource
some of these are strategic human resource management, maintaining competitive EDGE, the
role and value of human capital investment, external forces, the changing social contracted. I
also learned that company should focus on the strategy to manage human resource in three
ways that are find the right people, manage talent and maintain an effective workforce. To
give knowledge about how to review and implement the HR policy which is formulated and
overall development of organisation by utilising and developing the proper management of
human resource with good relation was the main aim of the chapter.

As a company it is very necessary to build up the good relation with the persons who are
involved in the organisation besides that providing proper knowledge and skills to human
resource is one of the key factor for success of an organisation which can be done through
social learning, mentoring and coaching, etc. with the help of this we can motivate the
employees to work in a proper way and provide good knowledge about in what way they
need to work for reaching the organisation expectations.

As the overall of the chapter I learned about important factors that need to be considered
while managing the human recourse also the importance of it and the process that need to be
followed while managing human resource for its effectiveness.

In the upcoming days while I will be making decisions of the company related to human
resource I will be aware about bad factors which can effect my company and make proper
strategy for human resource and follow the things which I have learned in this chapter to
achieve the goal smoothly which facing the less problems which may occur if I take the
wrong decisions and be fail to manage human resource properly.

Week 7
In the week 7 I learned about leadership. In this lecture i got I knowledge about different
kinds of leadership, leadership levels and the nature of the leadership.

Leadership is one the most important and key factor in the organisation to success it is also
widely discussed and researched topic in the management as it is very important role in an
organisation. The leadership don’t have the particular style which is known as best
leadership every leader have their own way and style. But there are some aspects in the
nature of leadership they are people, influence and goals because leadership is the
responsible role which refers the organisation to its goal by influencing the people. There are
different approaches to leadership which I learned about their nature, activity and role they
are level 5 leadership, servant leadership, authentic leadership and interactive leadership.
I have also learned of difference between the gender in leadership on this chapter where I
got to know that different qualities of leaderships are reflected by female and male leaders.
And also management to leadership outcomes where qualities and skills may be overlap but
reflects two different sets of qualities and skills. I also got chance to learn about traits,
behavioural approaches and its condition, grid and different theories of leadership. The way
to handle the problems and create the solutions as a leader by different ways by bringing
self-changes and proper using of position power and personal power that need to be done
as a leader to achieve organisational goal is the main knowledge I learned from this chapter.

As a management student who is interested in a business I got chance to get knowledge


about leadership so that in my upcoming days I can use my knowledge to grow my
organisation by leading properly.

Week 8
In the week 8 lecture I learned about the motivating employees which gives us the
knowledge about individual needs and motivation, horizontal dimension of motivation four
categories of motivation which can be used by a manager,etc in this chapter. In this chapter I
also learned about motivation quadrants, how to motivate in a boss less environment the
approaches of the formulating corporate
level strategy.

The knowledge I got from this chapter is that Motivation is the thing which refers to the
forces either within or external to a person that arouse enthusiasm and persistence to
pursue a certain course of action. Motivation is most important factor in the organisation
because it can affect the productivity of the company. Every company needs to motivate
their employees in a positive way for the growth of the company which is
important factor for achieving organisation goal.

In this chapter I also learned about process prospective on motivation in which key
perspectives are goal setting theory, equity theory, expectancy theory through which we be
well skilled to know about motivating someone in a company as a leader in a positive way to
grow organisation productivity.

As setting a goal to becoming a good leader and learning a important chapter like motivating
employee in management of principle it is one of the golden education chapter through
which we can motivate our employees and increase the productivity of organisation will help
me to become a good leader.
