NARRATIVE REPORT IN CONDUCTING SLAC SESSION

(New Policies and Guidelines for the K to 12 Basic Education Program)
AUGUST 19,2016
S.Y.2016-2017

I. INTRODUCTION

A ‘Policy’ is a predetermined course of action, which is established to provide a

guide toward strategies and objectives. In other words, it is a direct link between an
organization’s ‘Vision’ and their day-to-day operations. Policies identify the key
activities and provide a general strategy to decision-makers on how to handle issues
as they arise.

These polices are rules that are intended to help schools teach students efficiently,
fairly and safely. These rules determine how students are taught, what they are taught,
and how schools manage students and school personnel. Educational policies can also
help keep students in school. 

A ‘Guideline’ is to provide the reader with a clear and easily understood plan of
action required to carry out or implement a policy.

DepEd Order No. 42 s. 2016 or Policy Guidelines in Daily Lesson Preparation

and DepEd Order No. 36 s. 2016 or Policy Guidelines on Awards and Recognition,
the first guideline aims to provide teachers with an opportunity for reflection on what
learners need to learn, how learners learn and how best to facilitate learning process
and the latter aims to recognize the outstanding performance of learners for the K to
12 Basic Education Program.

II. ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN

The School Learning Action Cell Session on New Policies and Guidelines for K
to 12 Basic Education Program was conducted last August 19,2016.This SLAC
Session aim to:
1. Provide basic and functional knowledge on new guidelines and policies.
2. Orient teachers on New Guidelines in Daily Lesson Preparation and Awards and
Recognition for K to 12 Basic Education Program.
The SLAC Session was started with an opening program and followed by the
lecture proper. The topics were Guidelines on Daily Lesson Preparation and
Guidelines on Awards and Recognition for K to 12 Basic Education Program.
The participants were very glad to come up with their outputs and will use what
they had learned from the session in their teaching.
