JUSTIFICATION
Planning for a class is of great importance since we know that it is a
fundamental task of the teacher, as it must be organized, anticipate or prevent for the
teacher to be well prepared to instruct, as always by the students there are doubts in the
teacher is responsible for solving them, therefore as teachers, it is vital to know that you
must have in mind what will be learned, for what will be done and how you can achieve
the goal of the class. Therefore, This lesson is intended for B1-level students between
the ages of 16 and 17. The topic of this lesson is "The history of chocolate". I decided to
deal with it because it is a very interesting topic for younger students, not like traditional
topics that bore students. In the design of this lesson, I take into account the objectives
that our curriculum gives us as a teacher, in this case, we cover two skills such as oral
skills and reading skills, as the class is created for 60 minutes, however, as teachers, we
must know that we cannot cover all the main skills in their totality, of course we will
practice a little bit but we have to emphasize at least 2 of them. Furthermore, I choose
ESA lesson plan model, because in this class I have decided to take topics that catch
their attention and activate their previous knowledge, hence this class is a fun and
productive way for students to learn. Likewise, this model is accurate for the class since
it teaches them new study techniques and new vocabulary so that they can finally use it
in a real context. That is why students in the case of oral communications learners can
grasp the general meaning of spoken texts set in familiar everyday contexts and infer
changes in the topic of discussion, as well as deduce the meanings of unfamiliar words
and exchanges through the use of context clues, provided speech is given slowly and
clearly and there is sufficient visual support. Likewise, in reading skills, learners can
interact and engage with a wide range of ICT and classroom resources and texts by
selecting and evaluating them in order to strengthen literacy skills and promote
acquisition. For this reason, in my opinion, the ESA model is the most appropriate for a
class in which we cover the skills of reading and speaking, because if we take topics
that are not according to the age of the children, it will not be an efficient class and also
consider the teacher's planning.
